I wish Caitlin Clark much continued success! She has done wonders for women's basketball! Whether the Hawkeyes play at home or on the road, all games are Sold Out!! Odds are that she will play for Indiana as they have first draft pick. I hope Caitlin gets a FAT contract as she will continue to Pack The House, both at home and on the road!! CAITLIN ROCKS!!

It's not an "offer" it's the rookie salary under their CBA. W salaries are a percentage of gross revenues. Unfortunately, the W is a "loss leader" and has been subsidized by the NBA to remain viable since its inception (think "US Railroads"). The W only averages 5-6k fans per game with an average ticket price around $20-25. Those 5-6k fans would have to buy a LOT of hot dogs, popcorn, and beer to pay for just the overall operating costs of the single game they attend! However, the "CC Effect" has already caused season ticket sales for the Fever to make a big jump, single game tickets are reportedly being sold at 2-3x their face values on the secondary market, while her anticipated rookie debut on the road at the CT Sun has reportedly spiked their ticket sales for that single game more than any UConn alumni debut has ever done. Funny thing is, given her down to earth personality, humbleness, and love for the game, she'd probably play for free! Lol. Hell, girl wears a hoodie and sweats 90% of the time! LoL. Given her popularity in Iowa AND her superb academic standing as a Marketing major who will graduate with honors, she could probably work in the private sector starting at 6 digits if she never hooped again... The question the WNBA players need to ask themselves is this: "Do you want to make your league relevant and make more money? Then let CC BE CC!" (Personally, I'm worried that the bitter, racist, anti American lesbians that plague that league will rebel against her because she's everything they're not!)

Why should anyone, male or female, be paid anything to play basketball? Playing basketball provides no benefit to humanity and watching other people play it is a foolish waste of time. And I played high school basketball. I enjoyed it. No one paid me to do it. Then I grew up, left childish pursuits behind, and did adult things that provided some benefit to humanity.

  • @bobboyoop1141

@@Bernharp1 And how many people PAID to get in and watch your team? I would say they paid to see you but I'm sure with your attitude you personally weren't really a big draw! People pay watch sports and buy merchandise. The NFL contract with the various networks is over a trillion dollars. In this specific case regarding Caitlin Clark, people drive for hundreds and even thousands of miles to watch her play. Every game she plays in is sold out, in fact, the average secondary market ticket price for today's game for Iowa vs Holy Cross is $690! For a ticket with a $50 face value! Maybe when you were too busy being a Communist you should've studied economics! Oh yeah, and even in the old Soviet Union the "comrades" who were given the nicest apartments, the most food rations, heat and hot water that always worked were the members of the Soviet National Hockey Team! Lol. You need to take all your money you make "benefiting society" and go out and buy a FRICKIN CLUE!

The NCAA and ALL universities need to be backing up their student athletes' future and speak up against the WNBA and all sports media (USA Today is one) and their biases and prejudices against White and straight women as such media/newspapers have been downgrading and offending Caitlin Clark. If students are going to spend some of their most important Four Years (or five) of their lives in their campuses, whether paying, paying some or not, they have given these universities these very years at their disposal and care. They need to grow some balls and stand up for Caitlin and other athletes/students.

I am sorry spending $77,000 on a card is terrible money management. No matter how good she is in her lifetime, that person will never recover that money again. There is no value when she gives out her autograph out all the time for free.

No doubt she is great buuuut... (Yes here I go) Seem like she stumbled a lot when it comes to the big one through out her career... She's won dozens and dozens of awards but no Championships if you watch her Highlights, look how many times she looks for a "teammate". After High school and College of pretty much doing what she wants, I sure am actually EXCITED to see how She does in Pros.... Not talent wise, but HAVING to actually run plays. Thing is, she might actually become better when she sees what good teammates can do. She hasn't had a #2 scoring threat while at Iowa for 4 years, 4 YEARS... because nobody wants to play with her. They want to shoot and score and get that NIL money too... See South Carolina, Stanford, And past teams like Tennessee and UConn where several Gatorade all Americans wanted to play together. Not saying C.C. is a bad person, but when she doesn't look for opened teammates and launch from the logo regardless if it's made or not would suck as a teammate.

She is a great passer. Of course her high % usage rate gets her a lot of assists. But she is often looking for teammates. Especially in transition. Of course, she'd likely already have a title if she went to one of the Blue Chip traditional powerhouse schools. Of course its going to be harder to recruit the top HS school players to Iowa. The Big 10 is a major conference but iowa a mid major program in comparison to UConn, South Carolina or Stanford. A lot of the other top ranked programs I notice tend to have a lot of transfers. Im not sure if thats the case for Iowa. It seems they recruit and just try to win with whatever they have til they graduate. Not bring in players from other schools.
