Caitlin Clark Is ALREADY Outplaying Diana Taurasi...

Спорт

During Caitlin Clark’s record setting senior season at Iowa and specifically during the NCAA tournament, there were a few WNBA legends who decided to criticize her instead of recognizing her greatness and appreciating the new attention she had brought to women’s hoops. One of these players was Diana Taurasi, a longtime WNBA vet, who was likely seen as the biggest critic. On an appearance on Sportscenter she said this about Clark “Reality is coming. You look superhuman playing against 18-year-olds, but you’re going to come with some grown women that have been playing professional basketball for a long time.” A lot of fans took issue with this statement, including myself, as the last two number one picks were all-stars in their first seasons, and no one would say that they were the same level of incoming prospect as Clark. However, after Clark’s first two games in the league, there were many proclaiming that Taurasi was right. Clark had shot just over 30% through those two games, and had totaled 13 turnovers. I already discussed in my last video how those numbers were inflated by her teammates dropping easy passes, but it’s impossible to deny that she struggled. Opening against the arguably best defense in the league in the Sun, and the defending eastern conference champs in the Liberty would be tough for anyone, especially a rookie that’s facing a lot of pressure. But on Saturday, we got some immediate karma, because Clark easily, and i mean very easily outplayed Diana Taurasi. Again facing a difficult team in the Liberty, Clark finished with 22 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds while shooting 53% from the field and 40% from deep. It was her first standout game in the pros, but despite her efforts, the rebuilding Fever still came up short. On the other hand, the 41-year old Taurasi, who was facing a much worse team in the Atlanta Dream, finished with 15 points, 7 rebounds, and just 2 assists while shooting an abysmal 27% from the field and 13% from beyond the arc. She was awful, and for someone who loves to talk, she sure didn’t back it up. Her team still won despite her play, which speaks volumes about the differences in teams the two have. Clark managing 8 assists when her teammates can’t even catch basic passes is beyond impressive. It looks like Clark’s harsh reality may already be over, especially as the opponents get easier, while Taurasi’s career may be fading away. After all the criticism from Taurasi, that many rightfully saw as unjustified, Clark might be the better player after just three professional games.
Think about subbing, I'm on the road to 14k!!!

Yesterday was the first game in which it looked like Sides finally allowed Caitlin to manage the floor as a PG. Sides has been reluctant about Caitlin's logo 3's and has been vocal about wanting to try to get Caitlin fit into her more-post-centric. Finally, it looked like Caitlin was playing her game, and you can see how her numbers changed. I believe her teammates are still passing on opportunities to pass to her, and Sides is pulling her out at times. If not for those two things, she would be scoring even better.

The stat counters need to be corrected. About half of those turnovers need to go to Clark's teammates. You can't catch a pass, dribble, lose the ball, and then blame it on the person who passed. If you're dribbling then the problem is your handles.

Caitlin looked much better in her third game. they gave her the ball and let her do what she does, best, play B ball. She is still having to do most of her scoring on her own, with only sporatic help from the other team members. If her teammates stopped playing for their own glory and started setting up openings for Caitlin to get open shots, then this team can win some games. Caitlin’s players need to stop playing for their own glory and play team basketball. Caitlin is the best player on the team, I know it is hard for them to admit, but it is true. Once they accept that fact and provide Caitlin with the support necessary from her teammates and coach, she can lead this team to some wins. When Wilt Chamberlin scored 100 points in a single game, he didn’t do it by himself, his team set up plays that allowed him to get open shots. Each of his teammate sacrificed their ego to make a miracle happen. Until the “Fever” can swallow their pride and do what is necessary for the team, a miracle will be a long time coming.

She hits, she misses, she waves her hands, she wants you to play too, she is exciting, she is good in the clutches BUT the greatest thing about her..... she is NOT the hero! Did you see when she gave Hannah at Iowa the best game of her life.. 49 points.. Caitlin gave her the ball and said shoot! From Hannah's own words she praised Caitlin for giving her confidence. The Iowa team was having fun.... did you see the rush on their faces? It came so easy and natural. Gabby in her delight.. All because Caitlin Clark is a masterful genius of getting others including YOU the audience in her game of fun. That is what CC is all about and you want to shut her down? I am a big Caitlyn Clark fan for a lot of reasons, but I don't think people should go overboard in their praise for or evaluations of her play so far as a professional. Yes, sheisagreat scorer and passer, could become akin to the Gretsky of women's basketball. But right now there are a lot of flaws in her game that she needs to improve upon. Too often she plays "matador defense", and her number of turnovers are way too high, serving to subtract from her net point totals. This is to be expected at this point in her career as she now plays against the best women's players in the world. She will improve and become a consummate professional with practice and experience. But for right now, we should not be putting her on a pedestal so high that we are setting her up to fall.

Game 1 - 13 uncalled fouls against Clark. Game 2 -16 plays Clark frozen out with no touch, sat a whole quarter. Every game - Clark face guarded and double-teamed like it's game 7, opponents screaming if they get a stop as if OT in the finals Final four '24- rabid Ucon fans bomb Iowa with death threats Final four '23 -"Coach of the Year" Dawn Staley says "We're not monkeys" to coach Lisa Bluder who coached the the least-starred team to reach the highest level with the highest efficiency offense; who never did or would say such a thing; Andrew just beats Staley with better coaching. Finals '23 - South Carolina players viral to LSU players Dawn Staley's framing that "Iowa is racist", they themselves then acting with the same bigotry towards Clark that Tiger Woods faced nearly 30 years ago. '23-'24 - The difference today: instead of nearly all of the public overwhelmingly rallying behind Clark, the way they did behind Tiger Woods, a huge faction is jumping on the "everything is about race" dei brainwashed cult bandwagon. Future Failure - The race-colored-glasses wearing Hive mind is incapable of basic logic which leads to self-sabotage and failure which will only lead to blame and then more failure and then more blame. REAL Culture is the Foundation - In all of this noise, too few have recognized that the entire Clark phenomena has been " about " Iowa - the state, the school, and the culture. Iowa has the deepest history of supporting women's basketball and the most loyal college fan base in the country. It's not even close. Iowans were supporting girls basketball tournaments with the same passion as boys back when it was 6 vs 6. Of course, in a culture where girls are never taught that they can't do anything a girl - with an average basketball body - would grow up believing that she can do anything and doing just that - setting every major record for the regular season, and the tournament, and taking the least-starred team the farthest, 2 years in a row, did anyone has ever done. The Iowa fans, like their coaches, exhibit the most enduring loyalty, win or lose. Iowa fans only expect two things, great effort, and loyalty. Also Iowa fans extend a warm ham of support to people of all backgrounds who would join their team or even engage them in good sportsmanship. This is why players, of all backgrounds, we'll save for the rest of their life that they feel like Iowa is their second home. Clark had the courage to buck the Monopoly talent pipeline and to remain with those who had built her up. These millions of Iowans then caused such a rise in ticket sales and viewership that Clark became a national phenomenon in college. Her Iowa buoyed popularity became a positive viral affect where non Iowans learned about Clark's unparalleled talent and good character. Now Clark has brought all of these fans with her to the WNBA, well, to the Fever. Courage us the Key- Every previous great player had the choice to try and build her own Legend at a unique school. They were just kids, so we let them off the hook, but their parents and mentors failed to see the obvious - just as it is with the night sky, a new star cannot be stabd out if it is behind a whole group of stars. If Paige Becker's had instead gone to Minnesota she would have built her Legend as big as Clark's with her talent buoyed on the support of millions of Minnesotan fans. Now they don't care about her because she didn't care that much about them. Instead she went to exhibit A: Ucon which has been killing the wbb competitiveness for years and only developed a small (yet rabid) fan base - failing to even transfer enough fans to the wnba, for all of their top players, to even sell out the same state Connecticut Sun or any other team with UCon players. A'ja Wilson had the same choice - to take the risk of building her own legend or to join a one of the few talent Monopoly front-runners. She made her choice and now has the results if that choice They all have. No one is inspired buy a player who signs up for sure trophies. People are inspired by unexpected underdogs who develop organically with a loyal team and do something both unique amazing. This is extremely rare and difficult to do, but Clark had the courage to try and do it, that most of all separates both her off the car and on the court choices. College is the WNBA Driver- if basketball players fail to develop a following in college, then they will fail to have a fan base and therefor fail to have market traction because the WNBA is not a positive part of the zeitgeist. Self-fulfilling Tragedy- today we have far too many people who mistake Manufactured Culture for real and Organic Culture. Instead of benefiting from being within a United States where people can look towards other states and learn from their strengths, and in this example learning from the great loyalty of Iowans, people are being led by the nose of a fake culture media machine that actually degrades them and then tells them that they can't learn from Iowans because Iowans are "too white!" People have a choice, whether or not they see it, whether or not they use it.

She's also currently got a higher field goal percentage and 3-point percentage than Clark this season despite being nearly twice as old. She also averaged 17 ppg her rookie year. There's unironically no on in the league more qualified to talk about transitioning to and playing in the WNBA than Taurasi and all she actually said was the WNBA is going to be harder than the NCAA, which is...completely accurate? The fact you're comparing Clark to a 41-year-old who by her own admission is on the downside of her career instead of the current top players in the league proves her point.

All Diana Taurasi was saying is that Caitlin Clark is about to run up against grown women with a similar skill set. There are no scrubs in the WNBA, so everyone Clark is going up against is a professional. So the things you used to get away with in college won't work as well in pro hoops.

Don’t worry they gonna start calling them hand checks and body checks that’s in the WNBA when they realizing how much money they making. Defense might win games but offense sales tickets.

Lesbian hate. I hope CC leaves the WNBA and plays in a nice country overseas. If the committee eventually offers her a slot, I hope she turns them down. B. Griner should not be allowed to represent America since she has failed to honor our flag in the past.
