    I'm going to have to go back through the history of this one, to see how you converted the rear hub from a drum to a disk. But this is super inspiring, I think this would be achievable even without your amazing shop full of tools, it would just take quite a bit longer, and I'd have to farm out some of the machining.

    Great to hear! Yeah, gloss black is altways the best for the frame. Even if you do matt black on for instance engine or tank/seats. The frame always has to be gloss. Front forks in silk/satin black also really works great!

    I will bring the bike to a dynojet expert and let them jet it on the testbench. Last time I inserted a Dynojet stage one set, but they changed the jetting anyway. So I left it stock now to let them jet it exactly as they want. I will leave everything open of the airbox in the frame.

    Did you use over-sized jets to compensate for the extra air flow with the pods?

  • @chiefpepdesign

    @chiefpepdesign

    6 жыл бұрын

    Not yet. I first want to ride it and experience how it runs. Also want to ride in the piston rings first before tuning the carbs. But to be honoust (I also mention this in the video's) I bring it to the dynojet workshop where they will tune it properly. Otherwise I would have to orde a whole bunch of jets and ride the bike so many times around my house to tune it myself. Rather let this to the experts with the proper machines. It will take them like 1,5 hours and then it's all fixed.

    Chiefpep thanks for the reply! I just got a dirt cheap 82 Virago 750 but it’s missing all of the rubber elbow boots and the air boxes. I thought pods would be cheaper and easier. What would you suggest if you know that switch out jets and messing with it for days isn’t an issue?

  • @chiefpepdesign

    @chiefpepdesign

    6 жыл бұрын

    Pods are indeed cheap. That is, the ones that I use are like 5 to 10 Euro's. You could go for a Dynojet stage 1 set. There is this set specially for the Virago 750. That helps a lot! You also use an open exhaust? That also really helps (the more air in should go out somewhere... If that is even just some more gas/Dynojet set should almost do the trick)

    Julien Hagen Why do you think that?

  • @mikelaradesigns

    This build is very beautiful. My only issue is with your bearings. You have not greased them correctly. You need to grease the bearings before fitting them to the forks. The way you've done it the grease will not be properly penetrated into the race of the bearing. This can lead to premature failure. I'm not trying to be a troll or a dick just trying to impart some of my knowledge as a professional mechanic. I hope I help and not hinder your progress mate.

    mike lara Thanks Mike. The lower race was greased before I fitted it offcourse. But it was a tight fit which I did way before (there is a video about it btw). Yoke was then in the fridge and heated up the race and all to make it fit. I had no reason to take it all apart again. So it was definitely greased well before instelling. Inside and outside. Thanks for the heads-up!

    kevin waygood no it's not. I onderstand that you think that but the arrow doesn't make you doubt. Google on Pirelli Angel GT and have a look. They suppose to be like this... Thanks for the concern!

    Hi Abdullah. Thanks for your reply. This is a question so often asked that I specially made a 'frequently asked question' video for this. (Q&A video). You find every detail there. Also you will find the e-mail adress of Rezelman (the company who made this subframe) to order the frame directly from his adress in all video's containing the subframe. For instance: See all contact details in this video description: kzread.info/dash/bejne/p45nr8Wnf6-zfJM.html

    You are a really sharp viewer! I know it looks like as if it is the wrong way. But it's not. There is a clear arrow on tyres for which way the tyre should rotate. Have look at Google Images for 'Pirelli Angel GT' and you'll see all the front tyres are mounted like this. Thanks for the concern and detail!

  • @justfunk88

    yes, swingarm (forget how it calls on english). I like you bike, but if this was mine project i'll would be prefer minimalsitic design. Its harder, but result worth it. One line of swingarm without triangle looking awesome with this engine. pure naked beauty.

  • @chiefpepdesign

    justfunk88 That's impossible. It's a shaft drive with monoshock. So adjusting the swingarm is impossible. With a chaindrive you could. Then you would have to take another model like the XV 920.

    Marc Jeblo I'm sorry but music is a very personal thing. I switch between 6 different songs and have selected them carefully. Next to that, you don't have much choice since KZread blocks songs really fast due to copyright protection. So the choices are very little and it costs me a lot of effort to make music suitable (I have to turn and switch the key and lower or higher the pitch to 'fool' KZread and make the music unrecognizable). I don't have another solution for you to just turn the volume a bit down...

    Watch the newer video's. I've changed that. If you are new to making these kind of video's you learn by doing. This was over a year abo when I was experiencing on the fly what worked and what didn't. Maybe you have no idea how much comes to making these video's... But thanks for the feedback.
