I lost my Parodia chrysocanthion to rot this winter. They do have beautiful flowers. One of my favorite. I’m regrowing them from seed.

they looking great Lyn, so many already in flower / bud its great to see and its still so early in the hot season. this year ive had Mammillaria matudae in flower but that has finished now but maybe because i potted it up few months ago and it had some budding so maybe next year it continue, but since i removed the top shelf so the get light from clear roof above than just the side window ive noticed few more now in bud, also moved smallest to front and taller ones to side / back so they all get as much light as possible esp the ones what hate direct sun light, few what has not flowered in two-3 years one my mum got me from flower show it was in flower when i got it then it came down spidermite then it really struggled and horrid shape but split it up and is all looking great now and loads new growth so that Rebutia unsure type but big red flowers is now back in bud so happy days, my PARODIA MUTABILIS 6cm hook-spined cactus flowered once but been few years now showing 3 big buds on top so cannot wait to see that as flowers huge compared size of the cacti big bright yellow flowers, and ECHINOCEREUS SUBINERMIS its showing sign of 2 bulges what looks like the start of buds so very happy it could be 4 this year the most so far normally the reliable one is the Mammillaria matudae since it first flowered, and my thanks giving cacti what one is over 30 years prob closer to 35 nearly as old as me. the others never flowered in the same year together so things looking positive this year. glad to see yours doing so well, the extra light must be working dreams too. Thought i let you know the previous locations they were kept in as some already pretty cold hardy and some not, help you decide where you want place them. So happy your happy with them. Yep this year looks like 4 my cacti going to flower normally they like a year apart so all in same year not happened before so happy days. Just need some more sunny weather now :), take care and plant 🌵 power x

@@desertplantsofavalon yep the weather has been a bit dull, got be very careful watering, even the greenhouse i noticed a slow down but on plus side a lot plants now have fruit's lots pepper and chill's but not ready yet and lots tomatoes showing but not ready yet just need some hot weather but saying that i am way ahead this year was no where near this plant stage last year prob over a month away till i started to see peppers or chill's last year and this year they are already getting to be a good size so the early start in the grow box sure helped so next year i must make sure grow box free as that for starting cacti seeds but also i feel i light upgrade too as its good and doing the maths its very cheap 1 so a light what wider and more power even tho current its doing its job i just feel better light could be even better but no leggy growth so distance is correct but the only issue is i got to keep rotating pots sliding them along so the all get get center spot once a week so light upgarade help in that area . been very useful heated grow bx with light on a timer just few upgades feel it be all i need to start seeds and its very useful when we have a lot cloudy days the conditions stay the same , Plant Power Friday xx
