The ref forgot what a flag was when that defensive end was rag dolling the quarterback at the end of the half. Should have been ejected from the game, but no, let's eject players for little bumping of the helmets

College Football needs to be either an 8 or 16 team playoff. Coastal Carolina not only is 10-0, but they've beaten two ranked opponents, including an incoming 13th ranked opponent that was also undefeated. It's a shame that a 4-team playoff won't give them the chance to show if they can handle the best teams in the country. They've earned the right to find out.

When this game was announced, I knew I had to watch it... it did not disappoint. Congratulations to CCU for the victory, and I have even more respect for BYU for taking the game on (barely) 48 hours notice, and traveling over 2,200 miles to play it. I actually wanted BYU to win, because they would've shaken up the CFP. I hope both teams get a NY6 bowl.

First real team byu has played all year. Both teams made alot of silly mental mistakes ,arm tackles, and not playing till the whistle. Thats not going to cut it when you start playing some top teams

Both teams have played real teams all year. You people acting like P5 is in another league are so disingenuous and always make excuses when top P5 schools lose to non P5. The only significant gap is between the top 2 to 4 teams and the rest.

If you told me last year that one of the best games of the next season would be coastal Carolina vs BYU, I would’ve laughed in your face

Really hard to root for either team. I really liked both This year

BYU came out and played with no energy at all. It was clear they had the more "talented" team from the explosive plays but outside of that, they were flat and unexcited. CC played a great game. They clearly wanted it more. Their offensive play calling was awesome against a larger, faster defense. They controlled the clock by committing almost 10-11 guys to the run every play. BYU secondary wanted non of that, and failed to adjust. Great win for CC. Should be ranked top 10 above Cincy after this imho

For it to be there first time playing and it to be this good, I feel like they should play every year

Your team's Spread-Triple Option Hybrid is even more difficult than AFA, Navy, Army Option. BYU had to prepare for the option vs AFA every year we were in the WAC & MW Conferences together. We never, ever in our Ws & more notably, our Ls vs AFA had less than 4 days to prepare. CCU has played 9 games vs "balanced attack" QB offenses including upper echelon SBC teams Louisiana, AppST. & P5 on the Road team KS. :~ D

I'd like to see coastal play Texas, unc, NC state, Oklahoma, or Oklahoma st in a bowl game.

I didn’t know BYU had had a chance to win, as I turned the TV off when CCU got a first down on its last drive. That being said, how do you not pass to the end zone on the last play of the game, especially when the defense has practically all dropped back in coverage? I wonder if it’s a BYU thing, as Taysom Hill nearly gave the Saints-Falcons game away on Sunday by making a two-yard pass on 3rd-and-8 and then having to punt.

@Ralph Wigguhm I mean it’s a bit different to throw Boise State in there. Especially Kellen Moore Era should have absolutely played for a title. Boise State still holds the ALL TIME Class Record at 50-3, which is insane on it’s own til you realize: 1. They beat 3 consecutive Power 5 conference champions. 2. They never lost a game to the P5 3. They lost 3 games by a combined 5 points all due to special teams. 4. The 3 games they lost were all against Top 15 teams with future NFL franchise QBs 5. They beat the #1 offensive team (Oregon) and #1 defensive team (TCU) in the same year and didn’t even get to play in the championship despite going undefeated in back to back seasons.
