One of the greatest features of the Byrna that no one ever mentions is the fact that you don't need hearing protection inside or out of your living area. No fumbling around for hearing protection in the dark during a time of need. My already damaged hearing could not take the sound of a firearm going off inside close quarters such as my home, if needed. Not a problem or worry with the Byrna. I just bought and test fired my Byrna LE and I absolutely love it!
I love how the cartridge activation is by trigger pull, perfect feature to ensure the cartridge remains READY for protection indefinitely!

I'm was very concerned when the salesman told me you just had to tighten the cartridge down when you're ready to fire AFTER I had purchased my Byrna. That seemed pretty ridiculous. I'll be testing this fire & puncture feature this evening, this defense tool will make a lot more sense if it works.

Can byrna balls be used in a traditional paintball air gun?
Best non lethal device I've seen yet!
@IonorReasSpamGenerator
4 жыл бұрын
It's less-lethal, not non-lethal, people with respiratory issues (some allergies, asthma, etc.) can die due to strong reaction of their lungs on things like tear gas and likely also these nasty balls, so you still can end in jail by using it... Also, I would not want to be shot in the eye with these balls, so you better aim on the ground or on the wall near your living target to avoid charges due to using excessive force and solid shots (alternative non-irritating munition) of that power should be completely out of question for a less-lethal weapon, hit in a front neck likely can kill a small child...

I just bought the Byrna LE and I like it a lot. My very first round that I fired, hit the exact spot my eye was planted on. Pretty much a bulls eye, at about 50 feet away. I was using blue painters tape X's on an old wool blanket hung on a clothes line. It definitely ripped some holes too. The rounds dropped through the layers of the blanket, straight down into the snow for easy to find and re use ability.
Absolutely love this as a non lethal alternative! I definitely would like to own one of these
I have purchased one and on pins and needles. Two days ago someone pulled a gun on me. I carry a wakazashi yet the situation did not call for lethal force. This is my solution. May you be prosperous The God willing. Protect your community and your family. Peace
This is so amazing because I don’t have to shoot on target directly but it has Amazing effect!! And it has a nice feature of pepper spray!!! What a genius!!! These days, lots of retailers have a good payment option like afterpay. If you ever do it, I want to buy two !!!

I accidentally stumbled upon information from one of the social influencers I follow and I absolutely love this product I am not against people caring guns but for myself personally this would fit perfectly I'm going to start saving so hopefully soon I can afford my own piece of safety
We now have the orange version so it is not mistaken for a firearm. My wife and I are both CWP carriers. She will carry this, and I will continue to carry firearms. We see this as a good carry for public "events" that we volunteer for. Question: How well does the internal components and balls survive high humidity or rain? p.s. Thanks "Sootch00" (Don P) for the review that brought us to this product.

Seems like the best option would be if the assailant is charging you 1 or 2 to the leg/groin, then one to the head. Good product for the frail and elderly who can’t handle recoil. I’d carry this along with a compact 9.
This is amazing.
Thanks for tip about puncturing the CO2 cartridge by pulling the trigger with the safety on! I had trouble being able to have the mechanism puncture the cartridge by firing while the safety was off.

I bought two Byrna HDs for my wife and I. The launchers appeared to be very high quality and the kit they arrived in was very attractive and complete. My wife and I took the Byrna's to a local gun range and were allowed to shoot the inert rounds outside at archery targets - none of the inert rounds broke on impact. The rounds did break when shot against hard targets - like a post and a sign. I contacted Byrna's Customer Service and was told that the archery targets might be designed to absorb shock and that could have caused the rounds not to break. I had also asked Byrna whether they had videos of Byrna inert or live rounds being shot at human targets (the only videos I've seen show Byrna live and inert rounds impacting fences, signs and a martial arts target (Bob). The only human impact was to the legs of Bryan Ganz using a kinetic round. In another inquiry to Byrna I asked if the launcher could be tuned to a higher muzzle velocity. The responder (Johny Byrna) responded in the affirmative but advised only that there is an entry point on the back of the launcher where adjustments could be made. He gave no further instructions nor did he make any recommendations. This was disappointing, since I figured a person named Johny Byrna had some real insights! While most of the reviews of the Byrna HD on their website (including my own) were very positive, many that I've seen on KZread have raised concerns about the power (muzzle velocity) of their launchers and their triggers. From my own experience, you have to pull the trigger through its range and then allow it to reset. In any event, I'm not pleased with or impressed by the responses I've received from Byrna. Seems to me that most of the people working their customer service desk are not technically knowledgeable nor have they taken the initiative to escalate the question to someone who does have the answers.

@@thenamibiannomad Yo whats up my neighbouring brother! I have been carrying a JPX Jet Protector everyday for many years now since they came out. I must say the Byrna looks like a very capable product. What I like about it over the JPX is the amount of shots and that you have at your disposal and that you can constantly practice with it which you cannot really do with the JPX since its cartridges are SO expensive. I do however think that the JPX is more reliable since it uses 14mm blank firearm cartridges to power it. Of course no human created device will ever be 100% reliable. Cheers buddy!

Great pistol, thanks Byrna. My only gripe with the pistol is the sensitive ball retainer issue on the magazine where the projectiles are all ejected out of the mag if one accidentally slightly depresses the ball retainer on a fully loaded mag. Trusting SDI is addressing this as a priority, otherwise carrying a loaded spare mag, say in your jacket or trousers or even glove compartment, becomes a huge challenge as the chance of you loosing all projectiles in a self defense situation is extremely high.

Just like with any firearm magazine, you shouldn't be loosely carrying a spare one in a pocket. Should be secure in a spare mag holder or a mag defender for carrying and storage. Cheers!
Are you going to make a holster with a pouch for a spare mag? Or is it safe to carry one in your pocket, the rounds won’t pop out?

Byrna Can you show us a video showing us 300 FPS please!
Byrna is TOP SHELF
FYI at timestamp 6:10, I would never load the magazine before installing the co2 canister. I would install the co2 and ensure it is properly installed and then and only then would I load the magazine. t timestamp 8:31, I would remove the magazine first and ensure that the ball indication showed no projectile loaded into the launcher by pressing down on the ball indicator. Safety is safety and I believe that is the proper way of removing the co2 canister.
@catherinegreen1109
2 жыл бұрын
Did you notice while a round is in the chamber he pointed towards his face? I agree I’d rather put the CO2 canister in first. I see a customer following the steps and not realizing they bumped it off of safety and The next thing they know they are in the hospital having a projectile removed from an eyesocket
Great video! Thank you! Very well explained. One question...Once the CO2 has been punctured, how long will it last? How many rounds can it fire once punctured and how long can it sit in the Byrna if the Byrna is not being used?
Thanks for this gun
Excellent presentation. I purchased 3 Byrna SDs; 2 for relatives and 1 for myself. I happen to own a pellet rifle that is powered by 12 Gram CO2 canisters; are automatically punctured when I insert them and tighten the knob. Despite being punctured, the rifle still functions normal even months later. Why, then, does Byrna insist that we remove a perfectly good, almost fully charged CO2 canister after firing a few rounds and putting it away. I know the seals on my rifle seem to be undamaged by being subjected to continued pressure over a few weeks.
How long can each type of ammo stay loaded in the gun before it starts to degrade. If you keep it loaded in a drawer just in case you needed how long before you would need to replace ammo or co2 cartridge
