The Holladay staff seem like a fun group who really love what they do, and it shows in the whiskey. The rickhouse proof soft red wheat is one of my fav bottles I got. If only it was EASIER TO GET lol

I love seeing my hometown become a place people actually want to visit, just wish my grandmother whom owned a store there could be alive to see it flourish.

Picked up a Rickhouse Proof SRW a few weeks ago, and it's every bit as good as bourbons that fetch twice the price. Just flat out killer stuff.

Being a Missourian I'm pretty excited that we have Ben Holladay as a killer local brand. They did the one thing most small brands fail to do - they waited until they had a good product to put on shelf. Coming out of the gate with a 6 year BIB is just insanity in the current bourbon market and normally you only see 6+ year BIB products from legacy distilleries. The 7 year BIB's are all over Missouri now and I would say they are very comparable, if not better, than Heaven Hill BIB. HH 7yr BIB is $50-55 and Holladay 7 yr BIB is $50-55. But you would be sorely mistaken to believe we only have Ben Holladay in Missouri. There is a smaller brand called Planter's that is absolutely killing it. They are relatively unknown and they have even OLDER whiskey in their single barrels. I have a 17 and a 18 year old single barrel pick from Planter's and they blow ECBP out of the water. These picks are literally on par with Eagle Rare 17 IMO. They were also $75 each. Barrel King is well known in the KZread circles because of ADHD Whiskey being hired as their master blender. They source all their whiskey but they are doing interesting things with their finishing. There might be a couple other small distilleries on the rise in Missouri but their stuff is all still young. Won't be long and Missouri will be considered a top 5 state for whiskey though.

Maaan I liked whiskey before but watching your channel I’ve learned to love it. I’m still learning working my way up to 100 proofs cause they slap me in the chest 😂😂 but I’ll get there eventually

Weston is a great place. I've been there many times, the Irish bar in the cellars is amazing as well. There is a blues music festival in the summer. a very good time.

I'm watching all this guy's videos. But I don't drink bourbon. I don't really have it on my radar even. But I do have the same interest he has, just toward other things. There's some appeal seeing someone pursue something so well, even if it's not the thing I would pursue. What he's doing just looks fun.

I live in the control state of Ohio. I opened my Ben Holiday bottle in bond last week. Maybe I'm being picky, I found it odd there was no cork just a screw top.

From what I have had from BH. I like the regular SRW better than the bourbon. On the RHP’s I like the bourbon better. Could just be bottles I have.

I know you aren’t a huge fan of scotch but would you try and give Royal Brackla 21 a try? As a whiskey drinker I’m curious what you would think of a single malt scotch whisky finished in a sherry cask!

Taylor Single Barrel Bottled in Bond for $79.99. ❤❤❤ I think I got an absolute STEAL for those prices but I'm new to bourbons and their pricing nowadays. Can anyone tell me if I got a good price or overpaid and so forth

Dont know if you've taken a look at Boone County Distillery. Not bad for a restart Distillery. Their selling thier own stuff now.
