I just love the boys playing & just acting like boys. So fun. Our weather here in central NY has been so crazy hazy over the past couple days. It’s smoke from the wildfires in Canada. Everywhere you go, it smells like a bonfire. Hopefully the haze burns off soon. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Linna from the golden girl in England. It was lovely to watch your latest life highlights with a cup of tea when I had just come back from shopping. Your burger looked magnificent. I only eat out when my children take me. I try to only shop once a week now I am on my own. It was lovely to see hour boys playing and making their own amusement. Most British children these days must have their play organised for them. Thank you for sharing your life ❤👵

Watching the boys roll down the hill brought back memories for me. When I was in elementary school there was a huge hill that lead down to the practice field. All the children in my class would roll down the hill, then jump up and run down the practice field. We would do this over and over. We all would have to explain grass stains on our clothes to our parents. My mom was never mad, she wanted us to play hard, it made us eat well and sleep good. Thank you for helping me remember a wonder time from my childhood. Much love from Dixie. 💕

I saw you get the pork blocks at the supermarket and I thought I need to make kakuni again sometimes :) I can only get the thinner sliced pork belly but it works. Cold it is good as a somen or hiyashi chuka topping, or mixed with cabbage as a simple side dish. A teatime snack I remember were called scholiertjes (schoolchildren) it's a biscuit with a slap of chocolate on top. And cinnamon biscuits called kanellies. They still have them I saw in the store. I do wonder what my daughter will remember though. She gets different things. perhaps I should buy my old after school snacks sometimes for her to try.

I love the vids with the boys in them doing 'boy' things. You know mum it's very important to roll down hills! Lol. When I was a child, we lived on a farm with very steep hills near our house, I and my 3 siblings rolled down those hills at great speed every chance we got! Such fun!! 😂😅

I'm curious. Do you use your lettuce right away or do you store it somehow? I buy lettuce mixes - lettuce with red cabbage, carrots, peas - and it goes bad so quickly. I recently started putting a paper towel into the bag and storing the bag in a container with a lid in the refrigerator. It keeps for a bit longer this way. Do you store/keep lettuce? Does it keep well for you? I like lettuce mixes, but they tend to have more lettuce and less carrots, red cabbages, peas. I keep buying them though because they taste good. Thanks for sharing your shopping experiences with us.

I was always under the impression that storing lettuce in airtight containers makes it go bad faster. I put my lettuce, whether its a head or a mix, into a ziplock bag with a paper towel in the bottom and leave the top open. I also store all my veggies on the door and my condiments in the drawers to help with my ADHD tendency to forgot that I even have veggies. It seems that the combination of these two practices help keep my veggies fresher longer.

Next time add toasted sesame seeds to the tofu or a dash of sesame oil.
