People will buy these cheap pets and then abandon them after realizing the upkeep is 500x more expensive. neither the demand market nor the supply market is doing justice to these animals. it is cruel no matter how much you sugar-coat it or become desensitised.

I actually work in a rescue organization for cats, and I can definitely say that those cats are depressed. Kittens that age would be playing around with each other but since they have no room to move around, they just sleep. We've rescued depressed animals before, all they need is an open space, a sweet owner, and maybe a few other cats to be around.

I think you can literally walk down a road and grab any animal you want as a pet lol, there's cats, dogs, pigeons, crows, eagles, cows, chickens ofcourse don't take the chickens they're already someone's, idk about cows but a lot of time the stray dogs and cats on roads are cold and need food so you can tend to them

What to say, it's a shame to call myself an Indian. You are Right! Though I don't know if it's because responsibility of stigma around streets cats and dogs that stops people from adopting,, it's hard to come to a conclusion. But i know it's not money problem or responsibility problem because i had a friend whose family is in bad financial situation and who has an expired father(May God take of their family) takes care of cats in his home maybe like 3 or 4 cats. So it's hard to come to any conclusion of why people generally adopt or raise pets

Some people in my circle takes care of steet animals. We too never bought a pet but pets(wild or street animals) always find us. They can be treated like pets but you have to be careful with them, especially from dogs and monkeys if they are not sterilized or very aggressive. Those places are absolutely terrible for the animals, the pups & kittens come from puppy mills. Please do not buy from there. If you are looking to buy - I can guide you. But those kind of markets are definitely not the right places for it. 😢
