Awesome job! I went out for the first time ever to but fish in the bay just a few days ago and aside from the exercise I skunked hard so watching your first hali fall back in the water made me feel your pain but i'm glad you landed it LOL. This has given me motivation to try once again. Keep it up!

same thing happened to me but different ending, the butt just jumped off and swimmed away, it was the biggest I've caught, probably over 35, I now use the gaff and then a slip off harpon to secure the butt

It's faster to put the fish in the hatch then put a stringer. I don't know why the gaff came out LOL
