I haul heavy equipment here in Indiana. On the back of my truck I have a headache rack with small 24” led lightbars mounted vertically along the sides of it to illuminate my trailer in the dark. And they help slow down chicago traffic too kind of

I’m actually surprised the officer didn’t bust you for not securing the boom down onto the trailer like you do on an excavator and strapping up the outriggers. In case the hydraulics fail and the out riggers were to drop would be a bad scene.

I really thought it was for no tie down on the boom, like you say lesson learned, That's a fairly cheap lesson. Be safe in your adventures!!!

Years ago I would load calves babies as many as you could get on gated almost out of fuel headout the first scale there by wildwood get a overload ticket just a few dollars around 50 paid the ticket next exit put on fuel that was a free ticket out of the state you pull in any scale in Florida turn on your dome light and show them the ticket and get a green light they are one of the best for cow trucks even your speed was overlooked alot I did a tour or two driving a haul truck It is not easy enjoy your videos

Here in the UK 🇬🇧 if your overweight/movement order isn't right they will park you up and cable the truck and make you apply for a new one which could take 3 or 4 days or even a week to get a new one and get it approved you got away lucky

I was thinking about your miseries at the scale house and actually that guy did you a big favor. Not only did he save you about $850 but taught you a lesson as well. In my short time driving truck, about 5 years, I have gone over my share of scales and had dealings with the DOT. Here's a couple of things I have learned which I will impart to you for free. 1) 99.9% of the time they are right! 2) Generally if they have pulled you in it is for your own safety or the public's safety. 3) I'll bet you never have any of your trucks run out of the yard without 100% true documentation again! Stay safe my friend and count your blessings. You could have had another knuckle on top of your head!

Just a suggestion but you can buy some shackles from a towing supply company and on the machines where The chain will not go through The tie down point you can take a shackle and put it on there the ones that have the pin that screws into them and then you can run your chain through that and chain the equipment down

Ain't it like blitzwing or something that dot will pick you apart that's awesome they reduced it down for you

I hear ya. I've also said that hauling 60000 lbs cargo of excavation support systems was heavy haul. Maybe it's nothing compared to an extremely heavy 900000 lbs large Electricity transformer that requires dozens of axles, but I'm still sharing the road with light car users And it's heavy for everyone else. While extremely heavy haul will require Police escort to shut down routes all along the way so extremely heavy haul is not sharing the road. We are. We got cars in our blind spots all the time while hauling heavy metal on our trailers. In your case, the more visibility, the more fans and eventually also the more haters may appear, unfortunately. Everyone has the right to their opinion, but I am sure everyone who watches Diesel Life have a good time at it. But hauling big plant vehicles is not only about weight, it's also about knowing what you are doing. There is a lot of liability to it. I watch your channel because I also enjoy the Diesel Life and I always learn a bit more from you and pops. Haul on y'all

I got your back bruddah, I liked your channel from the day I first say you on here. You are honest and I respect the way you deal with the guys you deal with. You treat every body the same and with respect. I cannot say how much you are the real deal! Sorry about your traffic stop but they are doing their job. It’s the bad truckers that cause this. The ones that run their trucks without servicing or keeping them in top running order. Bad brakes, busted headlights, cracked hoses leaking oil all over the place. Some a bit more than others . You have to have your original copies with you in your vehicle. That includes your vehicle ownership and insurance card. Too much counterfeit crap going on these days. Live and learn. Keep up the good work! Be safe out there. Oh and put your seat belt back on. lol!

Better start strapping the forks down i figured that's what they got you for they want them strapped or chained even tho they can't go anywhere . They got me the first day of blitz week but i made sure all lights were working and the young guy was nice he was yes sir no sir im old but told him he didn't need to say that made me feel old lol but he done a full inspection i mean even checked my washer fulid level but i was less then a mile from the shop but he said your the first one today that had everything right said i over strapped the load i said no young man no such thing but ive been trying to learn how to drive for 45 years and still learning but he got his sticker book out and put me a new one on the windshield said maybe i would be left along and so far knock wood been thru most of Va my home state Wv , Nc ,Tn and got green light in all of them but stay safe don't worry about the hatters there just mad they don't have lives haha

Yours will be fine. He basically gave me a ticket as if I didn’t have an over length or overweight permit. It reduced my fine.

So you got the 100 dollar ticket and 40 for the over weight you know there is a king pin permit on top of your over dementional ticket are you running fleet annual the orange ones If you are running the fleet make a copy on orange paper you are also lucky they didn’t ticket you for no strap over the forks
