Bus Life: 5 reasons why you should live in a skoolile

In this video, I talk about my top 5 reasons that I am completely in love with bus life. I've been living in my converted school bus (skoolie) full time now with my husband and my 3 cats. There are times when living in a tiny home is not perfect, but I wouldn't change it---I absolutely love life in a bus.
If you're considering bus life and haven't made the move yet, let me tell you why you should. If you are planning on doing the conversion yourself or buying a bus that has already been converted into a tiny house on wheels, go for it! There is no time like now, and I am pretty confident you will not regret your decision.
We would love to hear about why you want to try out bus life, van life, or living in a tiny house. Drop a comment and let me know. If you're already living in a converted bus, what is your favorite component of buslife?
I hope you enjoyed this video and that it was helpful. For more about the Big Green Bus, please like and subscribe, and for additional skoolie travel photography follow us on Instagram @ biggreenbus85.

Do you live in a converted bus, van, or tiny house? What is your favorite part of this lifestyle? If you are considering downsizing, what is the appeal to you?

Dang..a rain water collection system! Funny I haven't heard of that (with the million videos I've watched) yet or thought of it. What an amazing idea! Thanks for sharing 👍

Thanks for watching!!!! I discovered the rain water collection system when I was looking at tiny houses before we had the bus. I'm hoping to soon have these upgrades by the end of this year but it will probably be next year.

Thanks for putting out both the like and dislike about the skoolie! Reason 5 is probably mine as well from sort of previous experience. When I was in the Army all I had was a bed and large locker, very little material things. The more I had in my house, the less happy I was. A couple of years even before getting the bus I started a massive cleanout. I am now converting a shortbus and at most what will not go with me can fit in a 10x4 storage container.

I could not agree more. When I started downsizing and getting rid of things, it was incredibly liberating. ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks so much! I bought that shirt online, the website was called 'Into the AM'. They had a lot of pretty cool graphic T-shirts.

2:04 and that's one important consideration. How can people find out which states or localities are bus or tiny home friendly?

There are always exceptions to the rules (my state is not really tiny home friendly, but it worked out for me). The website below provides good details on each states tiny home regulations. These are often the same regulations for skoolies. When I am traveling, I always call ahead and make sure that skoolies are allowed so I don't run into any issues after a long day of driving. www.godownsize.com/where-build-tiny-house-laws/
