Bus Life: 3 Things I HATE about my skoolie

I love living full time in a converted school bus, but there are a few things about my bus that drive me insane. Here is a short video on what NOT to do when converting YOUR bus.
After a certain amount of time in any living space, you really learn what you don't like. For me, there are three things that I can't stand about my skoolie. These three things do not take away from my passion about bus life or any of my excitement about the next adventure, but they are sometimes a real pain.
If you're considering doing the conversion yourself or buying a bus that has already been converted into a tiny house on wheels, this video can hopefully help get you thinking about some of the little things that might turn into bigger annoyances down the road. I love living a skoolie adventure in my converted bus, but some of the bus features I would do differently, or will hopefully have the time to change in the future.
What is your least favorite part of your converted school bus, van, or tiny house? If you're shopping around for a converted bus or van, what is a definite HARD PASS on your list? Drop a comment and let me know.

What do you hate about your skoolie, converted van, or tiny house? If you are currently doing the conversion or looking for something that is already converted, what is on your 'must have' list and your 'absolutely not' list?

Yes, those little sink are a pain. Not only do they make it hard to do the dishes the water gets everywhere. My motor home had a small sink I hated it. I watch a lot of bus and van build videos. Every time I see someone put those little sinks in Im cringing. And Im thinking they will hate that sink and be changing it soon. So Im with you on the little sinks they got to go... And the bed looks like a backache waiting to happen lol... but you do have a nice bus😊

Hah! They are the worst. My husband and I have to take turns doing the dishes so we don't get 'sink rage', lol. I am hoping to replace it soon. 😊😊😊

I am not on the road yet, always glad to see other living full time and making a go of it. Videos like the pros and cons are great to watch. I can see the issue with the door though.

Thank you! For me the pros far outweigh the cons. But there are definitely cons about bus life and there are things about my bus that drive me crazy 😂. I know there is a way to fix this issue with the door, I just haven't gotten to it yet. Best of luck with your build and I hope you get to hit the road soon!

I'm planning on resting my bed atop a row of metal 2 drawer filing cabinets. Should give me 8 large drawers, easy access and a solid base to bolt my bed frame to. They might weigh a little bit more than a timber frame but i am only using a single bed to save on space - I am doing a toyota coaster which has 17.3 feet of living space behind the front seats. I also know that I would find having to lift the bed a pain.

That sounds like such a great layout! Best of luck with your build, let me know if you have an Instagram account or KZread channel set up for your tiny home on wheels! I love to follow different conversions. My 'under the bed' storage is a disaster. I used to go under there several times a week. Now, I only store my winter accessories under the bed, so I only have to go under there twice a year. 😊
