Just something quick and easy on the ‪@Char-Griller‬ Auto Kamado for this cook. Burgers seasoned with #kinders Buttery Steakhouse and wings were marinated in Bachan's Hot and Spicy, then seasoned with Kinder's Wood-Fired Garlic!
Cook was fueled by @The Good Charcoal Company Premium Acacia Lump Charcoal which burns consistent and hot! Available at Sam's Clubs worldwide and The Home Depot in stores.

    Hello James! I'm just seeing this comment and sorry for the delay. It gives a nice smoke to anything without adding additional wood but, that also depends on what fuel you use as well. I use lump charcoal in mind and only add wood chunks on the bigger cuts like brisket and pork shoulders. I hope this helps😁😁

    Cheers to you Bill🍻🍻 and I'm glad you're enjoying our content! We just try to have fun everyday and put it on display for y'all to see. As far as grills go...I now have 15 total but keep the main ones in the LAB. I love them all for different reasons. But if I had to say my go to as of right now, it's still the Gravity 980. That could change with more time with the Auto Kamado which is also a great unit. But for me and what we usually cook, the size of the Gravity is why it's my go to. Not because it's a better unit.     Hey man, thanks for the video. I'm definitely thinking about picking one of these up. I can't seem to find the lowest temp it will run at anywhere though. Is the low end temp too high to smoke cheese and such?

    Hey Ryan! Thanks for checking us out fam! I think this Grill is part of the future of backyard grilling! Took an already awesome unit in the O.G Akorn and made it even better! I'd definitely say pick one of these up if you don't really need to much space to grill. If you need bigger, check out the Gravity 980! This unit goes from 200⁰f to 700⁰f. As far as smoking cheese goes, I never even have the grill lit. I cold smoke mine. All you need is off course, cheese, a smoke tube or 2 for smoke and a little patience. It works great!     @@ramtuff111 Great, that is solid information to have. I'm new to grilling in general so I didn't even think about just leaving the grill off and using a smoke tube or maze. Appreciate the reply and i'll be checking out more of your videos in the future.

    How did the burgers turn out? Timing the cook is always loglogistic problem. I use the top rack a lot make time work. Looks great bro. 🍻🍻

    Btw, do you get temperature swings on the auto kamado. I seem to have on mine. That normal? Set it to 350, but temp kept rising.

    @@dbz24 When I 1st used it yes. Now with all of these cooks on it, not so much. 5-10⁰ either way but usually right on the money

    It'll be fine. It almost seems to learn how to regulate itself the more you use it. Like a PID controller which would make sense also

    I did get the ERP code a few times. They sent out a new heat sensor and the problem was resolved😁😁

    @@ramtuff111 are you up for a challenge, take one of your pellet grills load it with royal oak charcoal pellets and take the gravity feed and load it with straight charcoal long smoke same protein in both with just salt and pepper, see which one puts the most smoke flavor after the first of the year i am going to buy a new cooker, its why I asked about the auto kamado controller, hoping it didn't have the same problems as the 980 controller or the master built controller, I don't hear of any problems with the pellet grill controllers, at 70 years old I can't baby sit a stick burner all night anymore and looking for convince and sleep, and since the gravity feeds were the closet I was going to get to the stick burner flavor, I was going to buy a gravity feed, but I have heard some nightmares of controller failures in the middle of a cook, so I am Leary and if the pellet burner can approximate the charcoal flavor close to a stick burner I might go the way of a more reliable cooker , I mention Royal oak because it's the only company i know that makes a true charcoal pellet , is that a test you would be willing to run or have you already done it

    @George Shiflett I have tried the royal oak pellets before. They are... well... pellets. Honestly, you do get some charcoal flavor... especially if you are used to regular pellets. But, nothing like using regular charcoal. The flavor is no contest IMHO. Definitely a nice flavor if you are using a pellet smoker tho. As far as the Gravity 980 controller goes... I've never experienced any problems with that one as of yet. It's been flawless! I've had my Auto Kamado for less time but, I did have a problem with the heat sensor throwing me the ERP code in mid cook. Once i reached out to Char-Griller, they sent me another sensor, I popped it in and was up and running 2 days later. Turns out the wire itself was loose. And i use these things 3-4 times a week in all weather and honestly I have no complaints at all! They are game changers! With all that said...I love my Gravity and my Auto Kamado but, I still love my pellet smokers as well. But when it comes down to flavor... you can't beat good old charcoal and wood😉 Just my opinion
