Bull Elk Backflip from a Heart Shot on Opening Day- Backcountry hunting with my buddies-no fluff!
Спорт
This is a rad opening day Elk Hunt- unfiltered and as real life as it gets. We dove into a deep Alberta river basin to chase bull elk on opening day. After 4 miles we ran into a bull ready to brawl and I deliver an arrow right to the ticker to end with a bull Backflip. This video is from 3 buddies in the backcountry with no frills, tons of thrills and as raw as it gets. You are there the whole time.

Awesome!! Looks like that elk got acquainted with the ground in a hurry 🤘🫎.
Awesome shot! Thanks for sharing your hunt.
Awesome shot in the trees! Thanks for all the archery advice as well, congrats on that Bull!
Awesome bull, congrats. Thanks for all your information you share with everyone...
That got ME excited! Csnt wait to get into the woods
Congrats brother.
Nice job and very impressed you were already nocking another arrow for a follow up shot if needed, not something you see on YT to often.
Nice way to start it off, congratz!
Perfect shot! Congratulations 🙏
Dude that was so ridiculous. You didn’t give that bull a SECOND and you snipped him. Wtf 😂 That’s the John Dudley special!!! INCREDIBLE bow hunter WOW!!!
Congratulations! Great patience, good shot!
Congrats man, hard work paid off.
Hell yea, got yourself one brother, congratulations and what a shot, in both respects w the bow and to the camera man, what arrow flight... Hell yea buddy 🤘💪👍
Great start to the season. Also excellent job by your cameraman capturing the moment.
CONGRATS BROSEPH!!
Sweet video John!

Beautifully done. I'm in my first season with a bow. Just whitetail but this sure does inspire me
Great bull! Congrats!🤘🏻
Awesome was that with a mechanical broadhead
Great work! 🏹🥩🤙🏽
I got that feeling last night 5x5 bull moose mountain park sk
Congrats man ! That makes for a short season
I do the same thing with my ears and my hood or hat. My ears are sore by end of season from being tweaked the whole time. It is insane how much more u can hear and how much louder your gear sounds
Congrats on an awesome bull.
Congrats dude
NICE!! Here's to good health and many more hunts!
Yeah brother!
I was in Alberta the same time as you John. I was hunting moose near Spirit River. Congrats on the nice opening day bull.

Love it!
What a thrill! Way to go!
Congrats!! I’ve been watching your videos. This year is my first time hunting , I’ve definitely learn a lot from you.
It looks delicious! 🥩
Nice job 👍
Bucket list hunt right there! Only a hunter would be super excited to get eaten alive by mosquitoes lol. Nice shot sir!
Filling the freezer with a nice Bull. Hunting Life doesn't get much better than that.
He says look at the mass😂😂😂 265 boone and crocket points maximum 😂😂😂hilarious bro
The heart shot back flip is the strangest phenomena. It seems to only happen to me when I make a quartering away heart shot. Deer, antelope many species seem to do the strange heart shot back flip. Maybe you should some heart expert on your show to help explain why this happens. When I've mentioned to others, they aways ask my why it happens, and I can't answer them.
Well done
Bada Bing. Smoked him....!!...dammit boy!!!
Great shot brother congratulations. Quick question. I’m not sure if you have already but can you go over the tools and equipment you use to level your bow string. I keep reading different reviews on how string levels not being truly plum. MFJJ has a nice one on his website it’s 60$ though. Can you give us some insight on the brands you use and the dos and don’t when it comes to leveling your bow. And maybe some mobile bow vises other the OMP obv they have a great product. But the guys in a budget could use some advice!! Nock-On 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I think it just took 17 seconds The quickness in his arrow release is phenomenal. I will get target panic at that distance
And he didn't use a 700 grain arrow! Lol awesome
Congrats, love those chocolate antlers.. What are those lights on your hat, where can I get some?
For someone new to hunting. I’m starting this year with crossbow. Anywhere good you can suggest near grande prairie
But John, did you eat the raspberries?!
This is a great example of how heavy arrows become a problem. That elk moved a long way from where jon first ranged him

Learning to estimate the ranges on the fly used to be a required skill and responsibility of bowhunters before laser range finders ever existed. I shoot all my local 3D events at unknown distances for the practice.

Show this to the people who think you can't use expandables on elk. 😂
Alberta is a big province. Where abouts in alberta did this take place?
Congrats on your bull. That was awesome what broadhead did you use.

Congratulation! what broadhead you using?
What broadhead did you use? That was a devastating hit.
Crazy thing is that he center punched a rib inbound with a mechanical and seemed like a complete pass through. But he said in a previous video that he doesn’t talk about his broadheads because he is always testing new ones. Sure would like to know what that broadhead is.
What broadheads John?
You still use the HECS system?
Was he using sevr’s?
was that the big size 2" sever? how did the head do? any damage to it?
@nockonarchery

I didn’t shoot him with a Sevr. I used a trypan. My follow up shot I grabbed the Sevr because I like it being the smallest for shooting really tight lanes
Your full of it
Small bull for Alberta Canada. There is no Mass
You using the Rage HD NC John?
@nockonarchery

It was a trypan
Ive seen it
I don‘t know why
Bet it was a 12 ring with a 200gr arrow going 500fps with all neon green accessories n perfect form. 🙄🙄🙄
Can I hunt you for sport too? A nice head shot??
Just proves that I need to spend more money on gear to be as successful
Didn't know that expendables were legal there ???
Are there any vegan web pages where I can post this video?
Why is John looking sickly? Not trying to be rude at all. I haven't seen him in some time and he looks different. Really hope all is well with him.
Murdering innocent unarmed animals is wrong. Hunters should be given a taste of their own behavior - a shot through the heart!
Your photographer needs a raise how he made that click bait look like a whole lot bigger bull than you killed
