I visited Sofia in August 2022 during my summer travels, where I explored the city, learned about it's history and got a taste of local life as I visited the bars and restaurants of the capital. There are so many things to do and see in Sofia and I would definitely recommend a visit!
Visitors can enjoy a big city experience in Eastern Europe at a much lower and affordable cost of goods, services and life than in many Western European capital cities. Combined with Bulgaria's tax friendly approach, it could be a very attractive destination for Digital Nomads.

Last few years winter comes a bit late, with first real snow in December/January. The regular temperature range is from 30/40 Celcius in June and July, down to -10/20 during the winter.

I think the advice you gave about using Wize and withdrawing is a extremely useful for foreigners arriving to the country. On your place I would've done the same. We are supposed to enter the Eurozone at 1.1.2024 however until then people would need to exchange into local currency. Keep up the good work and greetings from sunny Sofia :-)

Thanks Chris!! Yes Revolut is an option you can consider as well, I talked a bit about it in a previous video (kzread.info/dash/bejne/aaafm8uBn87Xn9Y.html). The only thing to keep in mind is that the exchange rate is less favourable on weekends. Hope that helps!

Definitely recommend a visit!! Within Bulgaria maybe have a look to see if there are any real estate opportunities? Otherwise if you’re a digital nomad it’s a popular place to run a business from 😁
Cool. Yet adopting the euro is well...bad idea. It's like joining Bernie Madoff's fund after he got caught - but my country is always joining failing projects, not my fault don't blame me...

Nonsense conspiracies from the nasty Russian propaganda 😂. They simply can't stand that Eastern Europe is getting on by itself and is back in the European family where it belongs. Bulgaria is already in the euro in regards to the fiscal politics it implements through the board, except that it suffers from not having access to the buying and selling in the EU zone and the cheap borrowing and overall business opportunities.
