I've used other (10" saws) previously and was pretty surprised with the speed and cutting ability of this Dewalt saw.I have bolted mine to a table to minimize movement which I highly recommend. This is a Great saw kzread.infoUgkxPeGkHOMe05FySypTOvYumxMn-xi39oRe with a light to see your cutting line (not a laser line).I'd recommend this saw fro anyone looking to upgrade from a 10" miter saw.

John, Awesome station. About a hundred years ago when I was doing laminate work instead of strips of wood to hold it off the sub substrate I used an extension cord. 50' usually worked and was long enough, you just looped it up and down and then when you were putting it together start pulling the cord. Ta da. I went into using that because I had a chip of wood fall off in the middle of the sheet and I don't have to tell you how hard it was to get out. I was born in the Jurassic era, 1946. You do some very nice work and it's enjoyable to watch you. Keep it up.

I have the dust topper thing on a bucket, and it saves me a ton on filters and bags. On my miter saw though, it seems most dust does not go up the chute but spits out the front. As I build my shop and bench top, I will definitely be looking for the dust hood

Great job again John! Very detailed and you explained a lot of the process you went through. I've already gotten the Earlex 5500 for some furniture I'm building, but have already prepped for the X5 for some larger projects I've got. Glad I saw it here as it better justifies getting both, just hard to explain to the wifey, but it'll all be good. I really like that you list every item we saw on the video in the video details. I kinda chuckled when I saw some yellow and black tools in there and not just black and red. But you do have that sharp blue Delta. Keep up the great work and content!

I like working oustide so I have my miter saw on a dedicated stand with wheels for easy movement and added support for long boards (I just finished cladding my house in Siberian larch which required working with 4 m (13 ft) boards and actually moving the saw around the house a lot - the stand was a life saver), also my shop will not be big enough to enable working with even 3 m long boards on both sides of the miter saw. But I love this design so much, I might attempt to get the best of both worlds - I'm thinking about making the center section with the saw itself removable and putting it on casters to roll outside for working with longer boards if need be and just for the fun of being outdoors. This will screw up the tape measure for sure, so I'll lose that killer feature... I need to think about it. Thanks for the inspiration, man! Love your work.

Well done John. The finished look is totally pro and your build technique very good. The only thing I would have added would have been some additional supports in the center of the bottom of the cabinet. I really liked that you used the Formica and your color choice is great. The little paint booth very cool as are the temporary work table structures you whipped out. Hope your wife approved of getting some more clamps.
