Imagine running this on compressed air, the sound would be amazing.

The thing that puts me off buying this kit is the fact that the electric motor sounds awful. Maybe the manufacturer should have spent some time looking for a better motor to animate this model, especially when you look at the cost of the kit.

8:05: for anyone interested, those are cooling tubes to control turbine blade tip clearances. If the case gets too hot and expands, there would be too much space between the turbine blade tips, causing a loss of power. Cooling air comes from one of the primary compressor sections.

I was impressed that tiny HPT blades have fir-tree roots even though they are covered by the retaining ring and not visible after assembly.

That was strangely compelling.... loved it.

It’s an electric motor powered demo kit that produces very little if any thrust! Not an operational gas turbine turbofan, pretty cool though. The sound of the electric motor is a bit of a put off.

For the price that they are asking for one of these display models I can buy an actual flying micro Turbine engines that I could put into a Radio Controlled model jet aircraft and actually run and fly it.

It wouldn't take that much more effort to make it functional.

An amazing build of turbo fan engine giving a sense of reality. The motor would have been much better and silent...!! Truly classic workmanship of all parts though... What's the point if you can't put fuel in it and start it up. And make alot of noise and wind.

This model is extremely impressive, but at the same time very frustrating. I mean with such a level of detail & material selection, this could very well be an actual working jet engine. Why not equip it with fuel, lubrication & ignition systems to be RC plane worthy? 😢

Awesome model kit but it is absolutely NOT worth $1000. It’s worth maybe $175 at best. Great product but for $1000 you can buy an actual mini turbine that requires fuel, oil, and other lubricants used by life size engines. The build time on this kit I’m sure is no more than an hour long. But amazing model regardless
