Hi Daniel, Nice video. Thanks for posting My husband (that's not him in the picture, that's my Dad)…anyway, my husband and I bought our first real home…it's a nice country ranch property. There is a water pooling issue when it rains…we have noticed that although there was excavation done a long time ago, that the excavation is actually looking like it's pooling water towards our house instead of away from it. I can send you pics if you like. Anyway, to give you a mental picture... instead of being a house on top of a mound, it's the exact opposite…our house (and the grounds around the back) look like a giant took his thumb and pressed our house and the soil around it down into the earth. I'd like to actually excavate behind the farthest areas of our property so that any water coming off the field goes around the sides of our house instead of pooling moat style around the back porch/deck. Can we do this ourselves to save money?

Thanks for uploading Daniel. This is very informative and helpful. However I do not see Video #4 in your playlist. Did you by any chance skip uploading video #4? I am assuming video #4 will be about building the concrete foundation. Is there a video for that process? Please let me know. Thanks!

+favian avila I'm trying to get some of the other videos (parts 6 through finish) up but I lost a lot of material when my last laptop crashed. Still working on sifting through what I have available. I may need to record some more video on my next build.

guess safety gear isn't mandatory in your state.

+HabsFan123 Totally depends on the area we are working in. In down town Denver it's a totally different ball game but In unincorporated urban areas it's of pretty low concern to the building department. Also, no employees and all subcontractors means OSHA regulations are a little different. Welcome to Cow Town.

Little sensitive are we? I was simply pointing out that the guys aren't wearing protective gear. Not judging, just commenting that I found it unusual. All work sites around here make in mandatory. As you can see by his comment even the poster isn't offended by my comment. Not sure why you are. Get a life.
