I love the format for your videos. Thanks for sharing. Don't change a thing! That is so sweet that you are considering the dogs too :)

Nice work get some struts once you get the bed on there it's heavy and not going to go to the ceiling getting to your storage in the back will be harder to get stuff out Amazon has bed struts just for this purpose and there reasonably priced Keep going its looking great.

Thanks Brian! Ya we’ll certainly loose some height with a mattress on there but we will add gas struts to help hold it up. Probably similar ones to our back door.

What height did you build the platform? Thanks!

Kinda weird that the joists are laying wide instead of tall. Are there no support issues?

April 30th!? Man, looks like you've got your work cut out for ya. Don't stress, keep having fun and doing what you can do! It'll all come together. Love the bed frame idea. Are you gonna use struts to hold it open, or just "Armstrong" power?

Yupp! The plan is to use 2 gas struts to assist the lift and hold it up. It’s not terrible to lift right now but it will be nice to have something to hold it

You're going to hate that design if you are going to access that area regularly. Between the frame, the mattress, blankets and comforter, it won't open as far as you envision.

Yupp it will be all stuff that is accessed less regularly. We’ll lose some height with the mattress and bedding but it should still be plenty for what we need!

It is interesting to see how you are building each project. You seem to be a beginner in You Tube videos. Suggestion: stop the silly jokes. Talk a little more about the specs of each project. I can see you have potential. Stop apologizing; it sounds like whining. I used 2 x 4's and a sheet of plywood to support my bed. I haven't cut the plywood to make a hinged top, yet. I am going to add pieces to lift one side of the frame for when I am not parked on level ground, but want the bed level. I am looking forward to seeing your next project. Instead of all the filler at the beginning, you may want to add a teaser at the end about what your next project will be.
