    Damn that's pretty impressive only 12 ft lb shy of 500 ft lbs, the LS6 454 did 500 foot pounds but It had a hell of a lot more cubic inches than the 347 Ford did I'm actually very impressed.

    Definitely not cheap. The body shell is $18000. But the parts spend isn't prohibitive for a lot of people. The skill needed to build it is. Most folks just don't have the skill and will have to pay someone a lot of cash to build it.

    Something to think about. Gasoline is a hydrocarbon. A molecule made up of hydrogen and carbon. Most of the chemical composition consists of linked CH2 and CH3 molecules, with a few connecting single Carbons and CH molecules. Overall there's an average ratio of 2 hydrogens for every carbon. When the fuel is burned, the fuel is mixed with air. Air is 78% nitrogen, 20.9% oxygen, .9% Argon, .03% CO2, and .17% other gases. Most cars are tuned for a 12.5:1 air to fuel ratio. So under combustion, for every unit of gasoline (C16 H32), there is 125.4 oxygen atoms. To fully combust the fuel, we will need 48 oxygen atoms to fully reform the fuel; 32 combine with the Carbon atoms, and 16 to combine with the hydrogen atoms. This will result in equal amounts of H2O and CO2. This leaves another 77.4 free oxygen atoms floating around to interact with other chemical reactions. My point is this, if the exhaust gas has less CO2 in it, What did the Oxygen combine with during combustion? A low output of CO2 is a clear sign of poor combustion.

  • @joedirt9397

    @joedirt9397

    A lower air:fuel ratio reduces the oxygen in the reaction and leads to forming more carbon monoxide and less CO2, among other things. Oxygen also combines with other things in the reaction such as Nitrogen. More complete combustion is better for power as the fuel is turned into mechanical energy of the piston rather than being burned in the exhaust.

    Disappointed you guys didn't show the dyno curve. It helps those of us not interested in peak HP vs how the power band comes in and runs throughout. Can you post it? Also, why didn't you lube up the cam prior to install? Never seen one installed dry like that. I'm sure there is a reason, just I'm not aware of one. I know you pre lube with the oil pump before you rotate the assembly and fire it. Is that sufficient?
