Sharing the early planning stages with us is so helpful. Reviewing source artwork, identifying key points, and incorporating them into a design; we don't see that side of the hobby as much as builds themselves. There's a wealth of great info available on how to build, but less available on the process of figuring out what to build. I really appreciate you sharing that creative planning phase.

And they didn’t come up with those styles on their own. This didn’t come from a vacuum. As often happens, they stand on the shoulders of giants. They learned them from Les Edwards and Michael Whelan who were essentially putting into art Ray Bradbury’s detailed descriptions of white towers, spires, etc. in Martian Chronicles. Before that, look at the white towers, domes and minarets sketched and painted by Frazetta for Burrough’s Barsoom novels (the film John Carter did them justice). Before Frazetta’s depictions of alien white towers, domes and other organic spires, there were even earlier German depictions of Martian life, with ancient cities that could have passed for Eldar architecture today.

Eldar terrain is an idea I've been kicking around for a few years now. This is one of the best I've seen. I was considering dish detergent bottles, laundry detergent as well. All the odd shapes. I love the google eyes, that's brilliant. I was going in the direction of caulk- wiped off with a bit of wet sponge ª to fill any gaps.

Couple of things: first this is a fantastic build. Second, the ideas of using epa foam to make the curved glyphs, the spackle to blend the curves, and the gesso to give the flat white surface are all great!. Last, when I saw the thumbnail for the video, I feared we had completely lost you to 3d printing, and that made me sad because your building techniques are so accessible. I'm super happy that they continue to be👍👍👍

I'm honestly extremely impressed with how such a "wing-it" approach to this project resulted in such a fantastic-looking build. It gives me a lot of confidence for my own Eldar terrain ideas. Thanks for another great video, and more cool ideas. Looks great!!

This looks fantastic mate! It's amazing what one can do with simple cheap toys. I love going to my local cheap store to buy toys to convert into terrain pieces. My wife always thinks it's hilarious to see both me and my youngest son standing in the toy section :-D. It has gone so far that my children (especially the two oldest) bringing me their toys from when they were little, asking me if i can use it for something :-) even my wife never throws empty jars or canisters or whatever away before asking me if i can use it to build something.
