    6:27 remember, trying and failing is better than not trying at all. And if you get a little out of your comfort zone along the way, perhaps you've discovered something you don't like. Or perhaps something you do like. I brewed a batch of mead last year for D&D that tasted so bitter, you'd think I flavoured it with Switch cartridges. But it was a lot of fun, and I'll most definitely try again sooner rather than later.

    If you completed one ruined building, and find the idea of making a whole board daunting, rope your gaming group into it. Say "I made this, isn't it cool?". When they say, "yeah, dogg, that's really cool", you can say "if you want a whole board of these, I'm going to need your help". Make a group crafting day of it. Give every person a task, like cutting out specific parts, assembly line style. Give each person the promise that for each one the group makes, one of them will get to tear it up and artistically ruin it any way they want. That way, they're motivated to churn out a bunch of them. Nerds love both the chance to create and to destroy. If you've got some fine tipped markers or whatever, you can give them a chance to write all kinds of graffiti on their piece. That's more motivation.

    for those wanting to use eva foam for terrain making without the back texture from mats on it look to cosplay materials suppliers and even fabric store. in australia spotlight stock eva foam in many of their stores and there are also stockists like lumins workshop (aus) hd props and many other stockists around the world and you can buy it in a variety of thicknesses ranging from 1mm up to 1cm or more (think i've seen it avalible up to 10 cm thick). you can also buy smaller thin sheets of it from some discount stores if you are making terrain from eva foam scraps and you are planning on having exposed eva foam hit it with a heat gun to close the cells of the foam so the paint sticks to the foam better

    The outside pillars are what click as an amazing wargame terrain. It changes a flat building wall that you may pass by without looking into a unit cover, a narrative, a backdrop for the miniatures. You built a lot more than a 3D building from 2D templates. You sir are amazing.

    Don’t feel to guilty when it comes to multiple page templates. Over here in the Netherlands it’s common to recycle your paper. And know that it all gets recycled, it’s not that bad. And if you print on a thicker paper, you only need to print one set.

    A question about your rounded windows- why not just use a Dremel tool with a sanding drum on it? There's many sizes for drums, you could find one that'd make a perfect half circle on a window. They're like 50 bucks and usually come with an ass load of extra attachments, pretty handy for any hobby/trade.

    2 inches that's really short for pretty much all Space Marines? I do 2.5 and 3 too 3.5 for gates. I think that is standard measurement for today's updated models. Im not trying to sound like an ass just surprised. Awesome build, though, man. A simple classic building project for any beginner and veteran alike.

  • @Miscast

    @Miscast

    The decision for 2 inch doors is based on trying to find a balance between everything - gameplay, aesthetics and also trying to make all the different variances in GW's current scale (and other companies) look good. Floors being 3 inches each, makes for good gameplay for most games imo, so making a door fit that and look good is the goal. A 2 inch door looks sensible with an eldar model stepping though it and a space marine stepping thought it looks terrifying as it should. BUT if you wanted bigger I think scaling the templates will look great too! Hope that helps with the scale decision making.
