The entire car care industry couldn’t convince me to go to ceramic coatings. I never went in that direction. The more I watch you guy’s the more I see the light on this subject and am glad to admit that I’m now going to start coating all my vehicles. Probably going with 8 year but looking at 5 year too. The industry has evolved greatly since I was a teenager applying Liquid Glass on my new 1985 IROC. Thanks for the great content as always.

Sometimes you want to inspect as you go, and if that’s the case (you’re just very ocd about it being just right) wipe off to see results often. However, that’s why you do a test section. After that you can polish the whole car and come back for the wipe down after!

Hey Turo, where in Utah are you located? I (Nick) am in Heber, so just curious. I like the 21mm DA for more defect removal, but 15mm tends to finish down better if you're not using a rotary to finish polish. You should be fine to get your whole truck covered with one bottle, but you might not have a ton leftover, it does depend on technique. Less is more when applying the coating, you don't want to be putting the applicator pad on paint and having drips coming down the paint

Hi Yvan and Nick. Would you say the DIY Detail Foam applicator could be substituted with ''Optimum Blue Foam Applicator'' or Gtechniq AP2 to apply DIY ceramic coatings. If so which would you recommend, they look very similar and the DIY applicator is not sold in my country. Thanks.

Question: how soon after new paint could I apply ceramic gloss, quick beads, or even your 3 year coating? I have a client who wants a clay and sealant, and then he said oh my drivers door was painted yesterday. I assume it's had a few days longer in the shop drying and curing some, but I told him I just wouldn't touch it this time and when I go back for a maintenance Wash that I'd add ceramic gloss to it then. I know there's ideally a curing and hardening process/timeline but my experience painting dates back to before automotive paint switched to water base. Thoughts?
