BUDGET PORSCHE BOXSTER BUILD: EPISODE 2 (EXHAUST/DYNO)

In this episode we are throwing out the old, rusted, restrictive, and heavy exhaust system this 986 Boxster S originally came with and testing out the differences with a brand new system! The Dyno numbers jumped quite a bit from bone stock! The sound being just the cherry on top! We don't have a mic capable of keeping up with the decibels as you can tell from the video on the Dyno but boy this thing is loud. Between cutting out roughly 30lb, increasing whp and torque this exhaust was a must for our project and definitely a great starter modification!

Put a Y pipe in place combining the left and right mufflers and it sounds 1000 times better. Right now it sounds like two three cylinder motors. You can just leave a single pea shooter style tip like the original 550 Spyder or get a dual tip on the end. Get a Numeric shifter and cables set on there and change your life! Follow our 2004 986 track car build.
This is the exact same exhaust I installed on my 986 last week. I wish you would have had some exhaust sound clips though. Really great quality system, especially for the price. Great video series btw

Love the videos. Nice to see clear before and after info. Placebo effect removed makes for interesting results. Would you have any interest in selling the original muffler (called a silencer or back box) where I come from. Thanks

So far so good. We have tested the quality on our 911 but no so much luck as with the boxster. Honestly for the money and availability it is a great option!!
