These videos with Dana have been a godsend to me understanding my own swing. I've been struggling with the idea of "depth" and "sitting" at the start of the downswing. His way of explaining it finally made sense to me (I have a very similar backswing and follow through problems). Great job by both teacher and student here!

This info is amazing. Your progression is stunning. I wish you could have an aero view so we all can see where your ball is aligned to your feet because the practice divots is moving and are you moving/adjusting as the diviots move backward. I know its tough but it Seems the Trackman is pointing to the right and you're pointing straight. Can you put alignment sticks near the Trackman to match your swing stick? Not sure if that makes the launch weird on our screens and if its the proper trajectory. I noticed on the ball you missed with the driver, you added 3x more speed and whipped and lifted your head but corrected it later. Ask your coach if you have to physically close the face to avoid hitting to the right? Seems that's the only thing missing, if not, the club will always be opened. Supination seems to work to square the face.

What driver shaft did you get fitted for after this? Still using the 10.5 head? Similar club head speed so I’m curious. Using TM Sim2 with the regular flex shaft and think it’s holding me back hitting moon balls with no control. Borrowed my buddies stealth w/ x-stiff Ventus and it seemed better. Gonna get fitted, but just wanted to see what happened with you! Great videos bro. Keep grinding!

@@JeromeRufinlool i would be too playing golf the way u are. Ur prob sick of randoms giving u advice but a fitting actually might just be beneficial to lower your handicap. With the right club in your game will improve. Might help fix some of your misses and help your consistency to lower a handicap. Better to do it sooner than later so u can get used to ur new clubs as you keep learning. Also no pressure to buy the clubs since its a big purchase but a good chance to see what difference it can make.

I disagree if your still working on your swing and it’s still changing if you get fit today they will fit you with that swing but if ur still working on all these things from the video your swing is going to change again and the clubs u got fit for will be for that “old” swing hopefully that makes sense lol once your swing is polished and your happy with where it’s at and your making minuscule changes than a fitting would be warranted otherwise your just going to be wasting a bunch of money

In the Ventus line, red has the highest kick point (more loft) while ventus black is lowest launch and lowest spin. Blue is in between. For Ventus, the colors is where the stiff point in the shaft. Most likely you will want to be in a Ventus black in X-stiff. Best bet is to get fitted though as there are hundreds of different shafts but as long as the weight (eg 70g) and stiffness (X-stiff for you) are correct, they are all pretty close.

The problem is you also need a coach who understands the relationship of all the numbers. Many golfers wreck their swing trying to change one number (usually path) without understanding the effect it has on other numbers (aka swing dynamics).

Analysis Paralysis .. Jerome is playing around 95+ for past 2 games at least, the shots are going all over the place .. but the coach is stroking his ego .. and he has been with Dana for past 2-3 mths now? Call a spade a spade .. how is that improving? Now he can’t even hit driver straight and the coach is recommending he change his driver because he can swing 115MPH? Again this is merely an ego play .. just stroking the ego .. can’t you tell? If you can’t hit the driver consistently, hot are you even going to be able to get fitted with the huge dispersion of shots? And what is the world becoming listening to swing tips from a golfer who can even break 95 .. how is this even a swing upgrade when the coaching instruction is all over the place .. a bit here a bit there .. 😅

Check Jerome's video on April 23. He shot 85. Scoring in golf is many factors. Short game is critical. He's been working with James Sieckman a short game coach. Chipping, pitching and putting are vital. Also, what tees is he playing? Length of course also is a factor. He hits it farther than I do but I score mid 80s most times. I'm 74 years old. I've broken 80 a few times as well. Dana knows his stuff.
