Brush Fire Sparked By Downed Powerline 7/6/24 Levittown, PA.

On scene video of a brush fire along Bristol-Oxford Valley Rd in the Levittown area of Middletown Township.
Firefighters from William Penn Fire Co. responded to a report of a brush fire and found a wire down across the roadway and a brush fire burning. PECO arrived on the scene shortly after to assure the power was secure before firefighters extinguished the fire. Middletown Police and volunteer Fire Police closed Bristol-Oxford Valley Rd between New Falls and Jollybrook Rd as the situation was being handled.

    Situations like this are why I have felt for a long time that power companies should have code 3 response vehicles, or code 3 escorts. This particular fire isn't that bad, but many devastating fires have been caused by downed power lines, and the longer you wait for the power company the worse it gets.

    @Ssj31234 most engines carry at least 500 gallons of water. Normally it used until the hoses are hooked up
