I was barely 19 working as a dishwasher in a town that WWF was visiting.. Bret Hart, the Bushwackers, Ted Dibasie (sp?) and of course..The Undertaker were all there. Mark was the largest man I had ever seen in person. I asked for and got his autograph. I was in awe at the size of his arm and the tattoo on it. I’ve always said that if you could peel that tattoo off - it would fit across my entire chest. What a massive man. Thanks for so many years of entertainment, Mark. 👍🏼

Me and my friends would show up early for shows back in the 90's to see the wrestlers arrive and try to get autographs. Taker would never look at us, always looked miserable, just stayed the Taker no matter what and walked inside. One time when he arrived me and my friends knew he wasn't going to say anything or look at the fans, so when he got out of his car I yelled, Diesel! Hey, it's Diesel. He stopped in his tracks and looked so pissed. He still didn't turn our way and just started walking inside but it was the only time we ever got a reaction out of him lol

I always loved that original western mortician gimmick the most and I'm pretty sure it was fantasy artist Joe Jusko who drew that original concept illustration of the gimmick, he had a job in the WWF's marketing department for a few years there. He also did the famous poster art for the Royal Rumble in '91 & '92.

That was just around the time everything started going downhill.. you had cruisweights like xpac and Jeff hardy having their way with Kane and over in WCW you had Ray Misterio taking down Nash. That's where wrestling lost its appeal having tiny guys Nash and Kane would destroy in about 20 seconds in real life scoring pinfalls over them in the ring..

Well WWF went through names like the Executioner and stuff like that but it was just a guy in a mask no other gimmick with it and that's out of date. I always liked the heals regardless if they turned face like Jake Roberts, Stone Cold Steve Austin. Undertaker with all the gimmicks was great until they broke him and Paul Bearer up that just killed the magic didn't like the Ministry of Darkness Undertaker reminded me to much of Thusa Doom from Conan than the brawler biker thing? all the sudden he was not this zombie that could not feel pain it got dumb. I will always like the original Undertaker the best after that it should have just ben called something else. Just glad he didn't go 2 WCW that would have been a bad move.

He's so full of s hit. You know who was playing Jason Voorhees during the span of time when the "Kane The Undertaker" gimmick was created? Kane Hodder. Then they'd recycle that name and use it several years later for a masked, unstoppable monster character who wears the mask to hide his horrifically deformed face, just like Jason.

You might be grasping a little bit here. During the very brief period before he became just "The Undertaker," his name was written as "Cain the Undertaker," spelling it as an obvious reference to the Biblical figure. Changing the spelling to "Kane" later may have had something to do with a reference to Hodder considering how much of Kane's gimmick came from Michael Myers, but even so, it was still primarily a reference to the Biblical Cain who killed his brother. We have to remember that Kane Hodder wasn't a household name in 1990. He had played Jason twice, but there were six other actors who played him and the two movies that Kane had been in were two of the least successful in the series at that point. I actually believe Bruce on this one.
