Bronco Raptor Vs Wrangler Rubicon 392: Ultimate Off-road SUV Comparison | Built2wander

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Fellow Driving Line contributor and host of Chasing Dust, Matt Moghaddam, boldly made the claim that the Ford Bronco Raptor is the best off-road vehicle currently available off the show room floor. We’ve driven Jeep Wranglers for a decade, and since the Wrangler Rubicon 392 hit dealerships in 2021, we haven’t found a vehicle more capable off-road. Is the new Bronco Raptor as good as Matt says it is? We had to get ahold of one and find out for ourselves.
To put Matt's claim to the test, we secured a bone stock 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor and wasted no time taking it off pavement. Despite the snowy terrain posing some challenges, the Bronco Raptor showcased its prowess, leaving us exhilarated and eager to share our comprehensive review. From its impressive 37” tires to the commanding V6 power plant boasting a staggering 418 HP, not to mention the race-ready suspension and refined interior, the Bronco Raptor leaves little to be desired.

    We need a real comparison video. Have the bronco follow your 392. Then have the 392 follow the Bronco and see if you both either not make it or make it. That’s how you’ll truly see which one can do what and which one can’t do what.

    For my use I’d take the 392. Solid axle front, relatively simple V8, and the cheaper cost to modify plus it takes up less real estate on and off road. For the trails I enjoy, even my JKU sometimes feels annoyingly large, broncos are school buses in comparison.

    Granted you get more for your money with a bronco but I bet if ford would have stuffed a v8 in it I would bet ford would have skimmed quite a bit of the extras off. If jeep would have but in a twin turbo v6 then I’m sure it would have been loaded with the same extras as the bronco

    Both awesome. Im with the 90% that would not be doing hard core rock crawling, maybe some and would go for the creature comforts and the everday driveability of the bronco raptor. Also bronco raptor just won baja 1000, it's a beast at high speed desert racing, whoops, etc.

    Why are you not comparing them side by side? And how the F are you spending $25k on suspension on the 392 and it’s not better than the Braptor… that’s absolute insanity! I’d suggest watching the Trail Militia video for a more comprehensive review. While it’s a bit Bronco favoring, it actually shows both in Rocks in Johnson Valley and in high speed dirt passes. The Bronco is an all around great vehicle, but considering you can get a 392 under MSRP while still paying markup on the Braptor, the 392 is a better deal and can easily be better for less money. For the sake of transparency, I am a 392 owner, I have wheeled both vehicles, and am the 392 driver of the aforementioned Trail Militia video. I have since installed 37” Falken Wildpeak RTs, and have proven it does better in the rocks during Winter4x4Jamboree.

    The 392 is absolutely better in the rocks. That is one of the points we made. But it’s never going to be as stable at high speeds over a independent front axle

  • @DUNEATV

    @DUNEATV

    4 ай бұрын

    I watch that video and the two vehicles do about the same over the rocks. You guys chose. If pushed harder on some of the other trails in Moab, I guarantee you that independent front suspension would not have performed as good as your Jeep, and probably started breaking parts like steering racks and tie rod ends…
