Bronco RAPTOR | Trail Test and JUMP

Having been hired to put together the off-road experience for the Raptor/Everglades media release, we were provided with a 2022 Bronco Raptor for 2 days to capture footage, B-Roll, and trail test it to ensure that A) we could demonstrate its capabilities properly with the trails selected, and B) that it would perform well and not have any unforeseen hiccups during the event, such as potentially not fitting or getting stuck. As such we set out to do just this, and by doing so, letting you know what we think of this rig! Check it out!

Hey Virgil the dealer obviously picked the right guy for the review. Drove it like you stole it lol. It’s nice to see an actual test of the vehicles capabilities as opposed to a fixed course for journalists. You make a tailgate version of the GARB correct. I’m currently not running a spare until I get the reinforcement for the tailgate to carry the 37”. Was thinking the tailgate version would be an awesome idea to use on the jeeps tailgate directly. Your thoughts would Be appreciated. On a side note I don’t have any social media accounts so couldn’t pm you. I grew with my dad daily driving a 1979 K5 Chevrolet Blazer with a 3" suspension lift, 33" BFG M/T's, mildly modified 383 SBC and it undoubtedly could do all the things new off road vehicles could do. I'm not saying that to bash the new vehicles. I Love them. I just think the bar is set wayyy too low on what they're doing with them.

I am going to just say what I believe most people think..... This off-road test seems like a bad joke. I could arguably take a Prius on flat, dry dirt roads and say it's off-road capable 😂. I also believe there were way to many squeaks, pops, and noises for a brand new vehicle being used on a glorified dirt road. I also would not trust a vehicle with so many sensors, and electronics in any serious off-road conditions like mud and water. Overall, the new Bronco seems like a symbol of nostalgia for someone who wants to say they own one, but doesn't use it off-road.

This Raptor was given to us to test it on these specific trails as these trails are where the media event took place. It was to pre-run, not “test” the vehicle. I just did what I could with the opportunity we had. Nobody has claimed this is the toughest test to push it to the limits and see what it can do. But I can tell you this machine is incredible. Yes it’s a first generation and has some gremlins to sort out and I agree with you on too many sensors. But the Broncos are impressive offroad, and the Raptor is actually insanely good! So yes this isn’t the ultimate test, nor did anyone ever claim it to be. Thanks for watching!

Yes that would have been good. I’ve done them with the Badlands a different day and there was no way I could have gone at the same speed. But unfortunately our mission that day wasn’t actually to review the Bronco, our mission from Ford was to shoot B-Roll footage for the media to use in their reviews because this location was too far out of the way to be part of the media event. So we did the best we could with what we had.

I was surprised to see this departure. And of course Ford could have helped set something up that demonstrated being more responsible while driving in nature. Apparently a decision was made to show off the power and speed of this rig and it sends the message to viewers this is how to use this vehicle. Perhaps if you are asked to do something like this again you could find a more appropriate place and also offer a few words to viewers about treading lightly. Ford doesn’t make your decisions for you. In the end each one of us make our own.

The way Ford is slapping on ludicrous fees here and there, I don't think they will sell many of these. Nobody has the money for their overpriced SUVs. There are tons of videos of the Big 3 ripping everyone off, demanding $60-100K for a stupid pickup or SUV. I saw many many reviews and they are NOT worth the outrageous prices. I am not impressed by this one either. I bet you they will demand $90,000 for this thing considering how their trucks are being marked up to the skies. Yes, I know Ford's website CLAIMS it costs $83,000 but the dealers and Ford gouging will push the lot price to $90k.

Yes I agree with you on this!! The botched the look of the Raptor. The regular bronco looks better. The components of the Raptor are great, but they are so expensive that it would be unrealistic for this to be the regular Bronco. Some Broncos don’t even have metal skid plates over the fuel tanks 😆

It is pointless to make a vehicle with all the cool guy bells and whistle if you eqip it into a stupid looking platform. Rule #1 always look cool.

The point of this video isn’t to show the hardest things this vehicle can do, rather to introduce the truck! It is very expensive, yes. If you can afford it, it’s an awesome toy!

@@NorthBoundExpeditions you did a fine job showcasing the vehicle. I've liked them from inception but haven't been able to see the value they command. I'll buy one in a few more years when someone's done with their toy haha

Yes and they can also be brought up on the centre screen but it’s not as nice and as easily visible all at once and overall I find the drivers screen and gauges on the regular bronco very dull and disappointing for a vehicle of that price. Especially compared to a JL.
