@@nunabisness7191 it will work but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. The Wiha kit will last a lifetime and can be used to fix so many things throughout the years. I can’t speak for anything else 😎

The wiha screwdrivers have the same one I used in video. The Xioami security set has the proper security bits so you won’t have to snap off the pins inside the screws. That’s the set I have and it’s the best small set out there. They partnered with xioami but the bits are made in Germany.

THANK YOU! I looked through several videos and none of them showed it and explained it this way, I was all good, but was putting the D-Pad above the piece, not below it, and bending it slightly did just the trick. I now have a fully functional controller and save like 100$. You deserve the sub!

Thank you! The triggers are controlled by 1 spring in each, but they sometimes don’t line up inside perfectly. They are really sensitive and tough to work on!

Thanks, this has fixed my issue with the left arrow on the D-Pad. However, it’s not really an issue but it can be annoying sometimes that when I press the left arrow down it’s make a click and ping noise. Other than that, class job mate really helped me.

i have fantech controller that looks like xbox 360 dpad, i played tekken so much so its like to miss input like prssing right instead upright

I had to sign in to like the video and thank you for this. My left d pad is stuck and I really don't want to buy another controller and the spare one has sound issue ( sound cuts off during gameplay). Fingers crossed, once again thanks!

Thanks! I bought a used wireless xbox one controller from gamestop and the dpad wasn't quite right. turns out the dpad retaining clip was just off center / rotated. whoever took it apart previously put the retaining clip on crooked. all I had to do was put the retaining clip on correctly. now everything feels right. 👍

Should the buttons under the d-pad all click? I initially though that the right and down were just not making contact, but after disassembling it, the contact pads underneath do not click. Any way to replace those? Any help is appreciated

They usually all will click. If you follow my method and they don’t all click, you can replace the membrane underneath amzn.to/2zCMLkV This should fix it. Good luck 😎

Would this also work on an Elite controller? I am so worried about cracking open such an expensive piece of equipment, but the up on my d-pad isn't working anymore. Cheers! Great video.

Yes the D-pad is the same on the elite. There are more parts the elite, but it’s same for those purposes. Just do everything gently and you will be fine.

Did this happen to your Xbox design lab controller. Mine came right out of the box with a dpad that double pressed up and down when playing certain games. Do you think this method will fix it?

Yes it did, Right out of the box with this problem. If my method doesn’t fix it, it can’t be fixed and needs to be replaced. They told me at least 2 weeks to fix after I sent it, then slow shipping back to me. Probably 1 month total. Good luck with it.

This video is the only one that shows a close up of thw D pad direction. A friend gave me his Xbox One and a 2013 Day One controller that had a D pad that appeared to be broken. I fixed it. He had the D pad installed upside down. I also bent the spring tension. It appears to work normal now. I like your orange controller because it shows up good on film unlike the original black controllers.

Is this the same for a series s|x controller? Specifically diagonal up left isn't working or making the click sound. I even tested it in marvel vs capcom infinite training to view the inputs and it goes back and forth between just up and just left, yet all other diagonal options click and work.

A slotted 2mm screwdriver is what I used but I left a link in the description for the security bit it uses.

Sounds like you need to press a little lighter lol....

Try it, the controllers already broken. If that doesn’t work it’s the membrane or you need a new board which is too costly. Check the description for links to the tools to fix it if you don’t have a small screwdriver. 😎

Proper tools are in description if you need them. I showed how it could be done with small screwdriver if you had one so you would be able to do it for free, but not everyone has them 😎

The faceplate probable isn’t on correctly, or the d pad is oriented correctly. If it working properly, the membrane should still be on. Check fitment of shell. 😎

That’s the round piece under the dpad with 4 round mounds. it’s called the membrane. Try replacing that, if not it’s one of the boards and it’ll be cheaper just to buy a new controller 😎

Yes. Use the Force Luke! I’m just kiddin. If you mean when you are putting it back on after bending the tabs, then the key is to make sure you bend all the tabs in a good amount like I did. Also make sure they are all bent the exact same amount or it will be uneven. Then put the front or bottom clip on first, and angle the top down to clip it on OVER the D-Pad and it will be even. You may have not installed the D-Pad back in the right orientation that it originally was. Make sure to watch the video again and do it the exact way I did. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

Sure. The membrane is having a problem and making constant contact. amzn.to/2wZSpfl This should fix the problem but it’s not 100% guaranteed. You could have a short anywhere on the controller. For this price I would try it to save the controller either way.

Yes they do, they are called security bits. You can snap them off with the flathead screwdriver like I did in the video, or buy security but drivers which I linked to in the description.

Replace the membrane and bend the spring anyway. That should work if the PCB isn’t broken.

Glad to hear! To fix bumpers you can take it apart the same way then lift up the bumpers, as they will swing up. Then clean buttons underneath with Q-tips dipped in high percentage rubbing alcohol. Then when it’s dry stretch the springs out slightly and put back together. That’s how you fix bumpers. If that doesn’t work then The buttons on the board are broken.
