speedy diver CAN WE FIX IT
You did amazingly to fix this, I found that the green and white wire were too delicate to strip easily without cutting through them. Red and black had thicker core wire.
Congrats on fixing that controller. Can't wait for more videos. Always love your videos.
I use a soldering iron to fix and repair game systems and video games. For example, gameboy games, you can remove and replace the battery from games that use battery as game saves. You can use a soldering iron as modding your gba. (Game boy advance. You can get a better amp for the speaker and solder it in. Very useful when u don't wanna do it a different and more difficult way. I really liked this video because it's cool to see someone else doing the same thing I do.
You can always take the bigger piece of heat shrink and slice it up the side, wrap it around the cable and heat as normal. It should still do the same job.
Speedy - normally you use some solder flux to dip the wires in and then tin the ends and then you solder them together without twisting. I use a solder flux pen for this kind of work since it is clean and simple to apply. The bad thing with the wire you are using is that fiber that is in with the wire and a little flux will help that solder flow in spite of the fiber in the wire. The other thing is the shielding that you cut off is another thing to actually try to reconnect since it does shield the signal wires from RF and also adds some strength to the wire to protect those all important connections (you could even have just pulled the shield wire apart and kept it frayed to then be the last thing to reconnect between the two cut pieces and keep the value of the shielding along with that structural integrity to the wire). Also, on the white electrical tape comments - I don't recall seeing that, but I have seen white shrink wrap tubing so that might be something to consider if you ever revisit this repair. I did like your using individual shrink for each wire and a bonus would be to have a larger shrink tube to go over the main wire to add strain relief to insure long life for the connection which you discovered after soldering the signal wires - You are correct on using electrical tape in this circumstance since it is a pain in the rump to get off if you need to re-solder. I'm a ham radio operator and do a lot of this kind of thing day in and out here on my radios and quadcopters I fly. Not lecturing but giving you some ideas for the future so you get a tip or two to take a cool idea and make it that much longer lasting repair ;>) Bottom line - you did good and made the thing work so high 5 dude! - 73 de KK6IQK (ham speak for Best Regards from KK6IQK ;>) )

I love your vids and I don't want you to ever stop
I always watch your videos before bed. Btw your videos are awesome
Nice video. I've used matches before to shrink the heat shrink tubing, but the best thing to use is a heat gun. I bought a dual temp one on Amazon to use when taking the bezel off of laptop screens when replacing them (I work on laptops all day at work), and it has come in very handy when I have needed to use it for other things like heat shrink tubing, and even removing a dash cam adhesive mount from my (dead) car's windshield to re-install on my wife's SUV's windshield, which is what I'm driving until we can get me another car. I have also used it to pop dents out of some things, like an aluminum water bottle. Heated up the area around the dent, and it eventually just popped out.
Music plays for the first time and you're like, "Yep! This is a different video!"
Great video love these kind of vids keep em coming speedy 😁😁😁
Thank you I got my controller to work love your guide lines you are the best love you speedy
Great job Speedy Diver!!
In the UK we do have white electrical tape, don't know about US. As someone else said I would have "tinned" the ends of the wire before joining together. Heat shrinks they also do in different colours so once completed you could have used a large heat shrink in white. As well as hardware stores people can find everything on sites such as Amazon and E-bay.
Good work! Everyone has forgotten the exterior heat shrink at least once. I know I have.
Speedy diver you did an excellent job on fixing that controller I know that is very hard to do those wires were very small and you did an excellent job on it and now it makes me happy to see the controller working keep up the good work and keep on diving and finding all the good stuff
Keep up the great work and never give up

The speedy repair guy!!
That was so cool please do more👍
I'm digging this type of video
Love the videos man. Keep it up. But still wonder why you don’t use a go pro or something so you can use 2 hands. #rubberbandsquad
Hey speedy, that black stuff is actually called shrink wrap. Great job on the controller
Really fun and insightful video. Cool.
I love watching your vids
You are amazing speedy diver
I love your vids
It's alive , it's alive.
Damn speedy your so smart with all this electrical stuff
Awesome Great job Speedy Diver you are so Awesome!! God Bless you!! :) :)
Use the soldering iron instead of a light so just ring the heat shrink it is more easier if you use a lighter you end up just pulling they sold out of the wires
Hopefully you find an Xbox wireless or wired controller that has an broken analog stick on it, so the spring or something where the stick doesn’t go back straight into the middle. I would love a video on that since I have a analog stick broken
This guy is just AWESOME. Dumpster diving. Now sotering!
Awesome job. Speedy diver.
You did such a wonderful thing giving a shoutout to Phoenix
Speedy diver is like Bob the builder can we fix it
SPEEEEDDDYYYYYYYYYY FAMMMMMM
This is so cool keep it up
cool deals love these fix it video's
Nice video Speedy
You can also use a hair dryer to activate the heat-shrinks 😎
this is a good skill us people should know. You know how many wires I had to throw away because they were ripping?!
Your so freaking cool and awesome but great video I really enjoyed it
You're lucky. I've seen some controllers that use that outer metal mesh as the ground wire.
I have the same controller I wish I had a longer cord like that but a regular phone charger is good too can't complain.
I still remember fixing the NES controllers I ripped accidentally
You are my hero
A pitty it was broken behind the breakaway cable. Nice video.
I also have the same controller as you do and also i want to know if you can help mi if it's possible to repair the cable from the part were it's closer to the controller and is it ok to cut over the thing that is thicker than the cable also good video
Thanks for showing me how to do it correctly
IT'S ALLIIIIIIIVVVVVVEEEEEE... Lol good job tho👍🏼👍🏼
Use white heat shrink tubing, so it looks good.

Adrian Delarosa OMG same I love cleaning things. Lemme tell you an awesome story. So my friend at school went up to me and gave me a copy of Pokemon gold. I was shocked. So I went home and popped it in my gameboy and noticed... IT DIDNT WORK. No wonder he gave it to me. Me texted me saying if I can fix it, you can have it. So I unscrewed the back screw and noticed a lot of crumbs and sticky stuff building up in the circuit board. So I cleaned it And it looked nice. I popped it in, and it WORKED!! But one problem... It didn't save. So I reopened it and since the saves are on a battery, the battery must be dead. So I soldered a new battery, and it could save. That's the story when my cleaning skills got me a free game.

Nice fix dude, does it have vibration??
Do you recommend any brand of xbox 360 after-market controller brand? I noticed that there are a lot but apparently all of them are at least a little inferior to the original Microsoft brand controller, so I'm having trouble picking one out.
Hi where the #speedynation at??
Congrats on the soldering. Why didn't you just unplug the broken cable from the controller and get a new cable though?
As someone that works in a damage cage the employee most likely broke it themselves and then threw it away. One of the rules of throwing away electronics is that it has to be damaged in a way that is not returnable, but in some cases people are just lazy and just throw away the items as is. Which is why dumpster divers sometimes get lucky
You handy dandy sob you. Good shit.
Do you have to have a sauntering tool or can you twist them together
15:05 lol
Wow
So cool vid !
should have put one of your bigger heat shrinks around all the wires instead of electrical tape.
I am amazed, you could be controller mechanic
I wonder what the ppl are thinking when he is dumpster diving🤔
Those brown copper wired is for ground they are aome what important so you wont have shortages
From all the games you find you should do giveaways for duplicate games that you have (this is a suggestion)
Love your Roku them
WOW, is this a Verg MEME VIDEO ???
Best! Enjoy Your Working Rock Candy Xbox 360 Controller! You Are The Best! The Speedy Diver!
Cut the heat shrink down the middle and put it around the wires... Then electrical tape.
