Man, KZread has everything…this is exactly the fix I was looking for! I used some wire threads for the crosshairs too - a bit thicker but they do the job well, I may even like them better. Thanks for the post.

I'm glad it was helpful. This was the first (and hopefully only) time that I've had broken crosshairs. However, I've been told it's quite common.

If you want really strong thin wire find some old fuse wire. It may be hard to find these days with RCCB's, but you used to be able to buy it in various Amp ranges, and therefore thicknesses on a little card from the hardware store.

I have a 6524 tasco apartments scope with a broken crosshair I sent it to Bushnell to get it repaired but because it didn't have a warranty they sent it back to me.

What i did with mine was put in a vice then used super glue with one of them very very fine nozzle and quick setting spray 2 seconds did one side then pulled it as tight as possible dabbed glue then quick mist of spray came out very taught and clean just a suggestion for you in the future When people tighten the grum screw to tight on a suppressor or put thread lock on it use a electric soldering iron stand tip in the crum screw comes out very easy thought i would tell you that little trick Have fun 👍

That is a VERY clever way to make sure there is tension on the filaments! Thank you for this tip.

If you search for "scope crosshairs" (I looked for Unertl crosshairs) EBay has repair kits consisting of 3 foot lengths of tungsten wire fairly inexpensively. Sizes range from 0.0005 to 0.0015. Much finer than electrical wire.

Hi there, I've tried unscrewing that inner ring out but it's just firmly stuck there and it won't even move a mm as I tried to unscrew it with everything that could grab those two holes in the sides, is it glued or I don't understand something? I'm talking about 1:22 part

Every manufacturer does it differently unfortunately. This viewfinder was from a Meade telescope and thankfully they didn't glue it in. I don't have the proper spanner wrench to undo it, but a set of carefully handled needle-nose pliers or hemostats can sometimes span the gap.

I can't believe that NOBODY makes cross hair replacement pieces . You should be able to screw it back in with the cross hairs already in . I actually was able to unscrew it with my fingers , apparently , I got lucky .
