    Hey William, one thing that helped me is reviewing after the hole block, or right before the next block as a warmup. I strugled hard to review in between games as well but that really was a game changer.

    Hey fellas. Love to see you guys acknowledged my comment from the other video. I think this one slightly stumped you guys. Addressing your hypothesis about in the long run. Why spend 3,000 games learning and trying to figure it out when we are spoiled with content that can fast track all of that? No one should have to play thousands of games to realize just shoving waves into the tower is bad. Like you said, someone can spend 12 months trying to learn the piano, but why not do it in 6 months? Also. The gold players of season 2-7, are the new high bronze/silver players now! So you’re trying to relate your experience isn’t the same. Most of the population was learning together at that point. But fair point in regards to guys who don’t care, but I think more people fall under the category of wanting to get better and a process would help all of that IMO, not spamming excess games in hopes out clicks eventually. William said it himself in the mail bag, the ~process~ helped!!! Spammed a bunch of games, not caring, was stuck. If you accept the process you already are ahead of most and care. Odds of succeeding far higher.

    18:00 -21:00 I think this is very healthy for Nathan. Coach might be a bit harsh but his intentions are pure. As i've said in my e-mail its a pleasure for me to listen to your struggles and how you overcome them. Keep it up both of you!

    on the shoulders of your shirts you should add the logos for your programs, like the midlane academy on the left sleeve, and SALTU on the right one (maybe without the words for a more minimalist feel cuz that's really popular right now).

    Interesting to see that at the start of the season Curtis was talking about Sylas and Syndra but ended up playing Ahri and now is playing Yone. This tells a lot of how our feeling of the game can change our choices.

    Better example. Imagine getting dropped into the gym fresh. No process (routine/diet) just go in there and figure it out. Why do it like that with all the knowledge out there and people who can teach you the ropes. Get results quicker like that rather then figuring it out on your own and still doing it wrong.

    Bronze/silver players don't know how much they don't know. Friends of mine on this elo don't even know what the skills of their main champion do. If you get the right build, runes and play a meta champion you will eventually climb, but as Curtis said, usually they don't care enough to go out and research it by themselves.

    The point u made with the reddit post is good, I also think that not everyone can get challenger, cause the elo itself is capped at 200 / 300 players. But I think everyone has the capability of improving to hit challenger, whether it will be years and years of practice, or just a season.

    Regarding the point with piano (I play piano) compared to League - piano doesn't change. League changes all the time. It's impossible to learn without getting a feel for it. With piano you don't even need to learn theory or anything like that to play the hardest pieces of music. All you have to do is practice (for years if that's what it takes). And also, the amount of knowledge it place a piano piece is limited by the number of keys. So around a 100 or so keys and their various combinations which are all the fking same. Play a C cord or a D cord is just one key over. In League every characters is different. There are over 750 abilities and passives. They all interact in different ways to one another. Then you add items. Then you add the map. Then you have the god damn human factor which does not exist in piano because it's a solo endeavor so the psychology is also a huge factor. It's not even close in complexity no matter how hard the piece you want to play is. If you don't take the time to learn the absolute basics and feel the game, you'll never amount to the hypothetical high rank one would want to achieve. Also, knowing it is one thing and the speed of access to that information is crucial which can only come from experience. You may know that Malphite ult is X range and it knowcks you up, but if you don't remember that intuitively, it's worthless. You don't get to have 5 seconds to remember it and that's just one ability.

    ADHD is definitely something difficult to overcome when it comes to champ pool and sticking to your guns on your few main champs. I've self diagnosed the similarities between myself and a few friends to have ADHD. Perhaps varying levels, but it's there. It shows in our procrastination, hatred for boring and mundane things, and trying to stick to a few champs. I've struggled with switching champs over time as well because it's just psychologically fun to pick up a new champ if you have ADHD. It ticks many of the ICNU boxes (Interest, Challenge, Novelty, Urgency; the TL;DR way of understanding ADHD). Picking up a new champ IS Challenging, IS novel, and often IS interesting. I don't suffer badly enough to not be able to main champs, but I often do find myself getting bored and can only fight the boredom by trying to follow the process as best as I can (I struggle with 3 blocking and reviewing though lol. I often don't review if I feel like the issues were obvious.). But it's not so simple for my other friends who play league. I introduced my duo partner to Coach Curtis' videos because he's a mid main and he's struggling. My hypothesis is because he doesn't find it interesting to review and just enjoys playing the game so he doesn't limit himself into 3 blocks or anything like that. He just plays and plays in a day when he has the time since he often doesn't always have time to. I have another friend who's a support main; let's call them Friend B, but pretty much just picks up a champion for a while and then drops them for someone else when they get bored of them. It's not that they play a different champion EVERY game. I have friends who do that, but they don't display other ADHD symptoms I would expect so I'm doubtful it would be their issue in that case. In Friend B's case, he picks up a champion and learns them for maybe 5~30 games. Depends on how much they like them, and whatever. Then the champion will be dropped from their pool for months on end if not years. Maybe they'll play them for a game here or there, but it's not with the same initial enthusiasm they originally had when they discovered the champion. The friend group remembers their stint of enjoying the champion, but they just lose interest once the novelty wears off. And it's always the same cycle "Wow X is so FUN, so BROKEN! I love it and want to get better at them!" 15 games later, "Eh I just don't feel like it right now, I should play them again sometime, but for now... Y!!" TL;DR Hard to main champs if you have ADHD. I'm like 99% certain after consuming online ADHD resources and my personal experiences.

    Have to disagree on bronze/silver coaching. I think coaches lack the skill/patience to teach truly new players. League is not intuitive (imagine someone with no keyboard/mouse experience and no gaming experience) and I think you're taking a lot of learned knowledge as assumed knowledge. Coaches are employed to ensure you have good habits from the ground up. Doing that for league would take a long time and be very uninteresting for a highly skilled player/coach.

  • @braxindor4153
    @braxindor41532 жыл бұрын

    I disagree so much with the LoL and piano example lol. LoL and Piano are both intuitive. So many learn the piano by trial and error without sheet music or the likes. For LoL, it's all logical. It's dynamic with a lot of options, the piano is the same. In LoL... You don't need feeling. Feeling is what you rely on when you don't know enough stuff. It's the easiest way for many, but it's not needed to go for.
