I can understand. A back operation went wrong, required a second op, then had a massive fall. Ive spent 4 weeks in ICU but now slowly recovering. Your La Landings goings on amused me during lock downs and they are something to look forward to during a difficult and long recovery. You spread joy where ever you all go and that’s why people are so generous in their gifts, donations and willingness to volunteer to help you renovate the chateau. Your party at Versailles is repeated at Fontembleu. Some one else’s channel I follow, Zack Pinsent dresses in Georgian and regency clothes every day. He is a talented guy, makes all his own clothes and they are amazing. You two would get on so well.

Greetings from Alaska. Wow. I mean wow. If people were to ask me why I would want to visit Chateau Lalande this is the vlog I would show them. Everyone is welcome. Everyone is on a first name basis. It’s a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. Everyone sits together to dine on good food, sharing their lives, their stories, and their laughter. Bottles of spirits, local cheese, garden vegetables, and fresh breads are broken out to be shared in friendship. This is all done willingly because the spirit of the chateau unites all who visit. You may have started off as strangers, but now are lifelong friends who shared the adventure that is La Château Lalande. Thank you for fostering this gracious spirit and even more for opening up and sharing your home. Letting others share it either by visiting in person, helping rebuild and maintain the buildings by becoming patrons, or by watching from home. That said I hope to someday visit and be as welcome. Now on to my regular commentary. Love the vlog today. To see Andies paintings framed and hung was a treat. One I know we saw reflected in her eyes when you showed her them hanging in the Grande Salon. It was beautiful to share this moment with her. I love that we got to enjoy a dinner with the guests. It was idyllic. I think everyone who watches the vlogs imagined this is what life at the chateau is like. As for the pea chicks being named Life, Love, and Laughter. Yes yes yes!!! Thank you for tonight’s post. It was dreamlike. I am glad floorboard heating was at least restored. I hope soon it will be restored to the radiators. It's a strange world that sees a channel magnificent, quality and culture rich, uplifting, consciously opening and world changing (University sponsorship) with such a small subscription compared to a channel where someone eats loudly point blank into a lens.... Ahhh 😂🤔 no justice haha.

I love bargain hunting at charity shops when I'm in the UK! Here in Switzerland, they exist, but they're hard to find out where we live. The green dress suits you, Stephanie! I agree that the charity shops in England and Scotland are much higher quality than most I've been to in the United States. Glasgow is a charity shop destination.

These vlogs got me collecting too...but just teacups and saucers focused on my family heritage. I now have 10 second-hand French, Dutch, English, German, and Japanese pieces in bold colors I love, to make sharing tea/coffee and snacks more fun. I looked online for a second-hand small display cabinet, but everything was too big and I don't want to collect, just display what I own to see it every day. Turns out a small wooden cabinet with 2 glass doors I gave my boyfriend for his desk wasn't really being used, so now it is my perfect-sized "china cabinet" on a large side table in our living room. I've also been inspired to USE my barely-used china and glassware purchased with pans (much used after 40 years) in college as part of a "build good credit history" payment package. (Just ruined a pan lid last week as I was distracted by KZread videos! D'oh!) The china is creme with a platinum patterned edge band, so all my colorful things look great layering with my own set. I'm grateful to have found Chateaux Diaries and taken Stephanie's cue to "use the good china everyday", for more life, love and laughter!

I love a great made-up word! Atlasing something I am going to use… In a friend group of years gone by when we were all getting married off, one of our friends atlased a weird lamp their aunt had given them. It was a hilarious joke… and every future bride or groom was atlased with it over the years. It made the rounds!! My friend coined “flirtationship” and I use it every chance I get. 💕 Lovely vlog, beautiful green dress, late summer garden party and Andie’s art surprise included.

One of my favourite episodes, pea chicks, French cheese, wonderful watercolour paintings, green vintage knitted dress, vintage finds and lots of laughter. Love the names for the pea chicks.

Nice to also meet the LaLande couple' at the Chateau de LaLande. I wondered if they had been descendants of the historic family of La lande the marquis? They are not sure of any link to the home, but they fit right in perfectly! Love meeting the guests, as have spoken with them or seen them at least in the live chat many times, and feel like I truly know them but seems even nicer to actually see them at LaLande..

The figs are coming to life, just like the rest of the property. It is not only the chateau that's coming back, but the land too. The lake must be restored as soon as possible! laLande is like a jewel and is again beginning to sparkle.

Very fun vlog and of course it's do to the lively, interesting people you surround yourself with and choose to be part of your fascinating life. What is not to like? Walking in a garden searching for the last fruits of summer? Treasure hunting? In Chicago, it's called "junking", and ugly word which I never use. Choosing a new taste treat of cheeses? Enjoying lunch at a beautifully set table with blue and yellow flowers in the warm sun? Going on to another obviously delicious dinner with new happy people, new stories to tell.? Andy's extreme pleasure at seeing her very lovely paintings, framed so well, hanging in place? About a ten star day, filled into 45 minutes. I love that the place is called THE HOUSE OF CHEESE! And I wish I had a charity shop near me that has all the cool finds that you have...the DISHES (swoon), the FURNITURE (gasp!), and the...really ugly 80s drop waist sparkly dresses... And now that summer is over, you can have HARVEST garden parties! Well, as long as the weather holds...

You can tell when a fig is ripe because the fruit necks wilt and the fruits hang down.

Unfortunately the figs won't ripen at this time of year. They are tasteless when unripe. They'll drop off over winter. If you decide to remove any, do leave the little pea size ones on as they are next years crop. Best wait for next year's crop.

horizontal WC paintings should hang over the vertical WC paintings. With artwork, you want the eye to settle on the paintings and when verticals are on top of horizontal the eye keep going upward instead of stopping with the top painting. They are framed expertly! Perfect choices and tasteful. The green dress is a stellar choice! Glad you passed on the sequin dress.
