Y'all are nuts. The studio audience going crazy was half the fun of this show. And honestly, a much more accurate representation of what attending a live show was always like. The stage is thought of as this dignified, sophisticated place now, but most of history, going to a play was more like attending a pro wrestling match.

Would not say "most of history" and at least not in every type of play back for example in ancient Greece when theater started. First of not every play was comedy, tragedies were more serious and second , ancient Greeks considered theater as teaching which is why for poor citizens who could not afford it the admission price was payed by the state.

The "Good Girl" scene is funnier with context. The only thing Al has to be proud of is his High School Football Record from Polk High. Some new kid at the School was going to break his record and Kelly who had a crush on the boy and even joined the Cheerleaders to get close to him ended up costing him the game and by default persevering Al's record.

Was in the audience for three episodes of MWC! Even got a few autographs from Faustino, Sagal, & O’neill! (My Niece awesomely obtained a signed pic of Christina Applegate for me, to complete my Bundy collection.) I even won a script for the episode, “No Chicken, No Check”, & a, “Hell Yes, I Watch Married With Children!” bumper sticker! One of the best US TV sitcoms, ever! There was talk of a reboot, just a few years ago. Possibly even an animated version, that would feature the voices of the original cast. No idea where it stands, at this point. (Especially with Ms. Applegate’s sad health issues.) Still… Here’s hoping! 🤞🤞🤞 Best to you all! 😁

Aidan would be shocked by the scene in "Back to the Future" when Marty goes back to 1955 and sees several gas station attendants service the car -- one to pump the gas; one to fill your tires with air, another to check your oil and clean your windshields. Self-service is relatively new...going back to the early 80s. As someone who lives in New Jersey, I prefer having someone pump my gas. It gives people jobs and there are millions of American men whose first job as a teenager was pumping gas at a gas station.

Were he alive today, that job would not be available to him. Many of my friends started out pumping gas in high school. So did my brother. There is nothing wrong with it.

Gas station pumps in the US don.t work until you pay, and automatically cut you off when you reach the amount that you paid for, in the case of cash. In the case of using card chip, or tap to pay, you have to use your card first. You can't' steal gas unless the gas station has a 30-year-old pump, which I don't even see in tiny Texas towns of less than 2,000 people.

Well, for a time, people _did_ just drive off without paying for gas. But as you said: cameras have helped a lot with that. And even before paying at the pump, they'd make you prepay before they turned the pump on,m if it was an area where that was a big problem or after a certain hour at night. Now that's a big problem with the self-checkouts at our supermarkets. To the point that they're getting phased out in favor of going back to manned cash registers. I don't know what it's like in the UK, but shoplifting has gone _through the roof_ here in the States. And as a first: NO ONE CARES except the owners. Everyone is getting squeezed so hard and the wealthy are so hated that you see someone at Walmart stuffing a bit of food in their coat, you just mind your own business. Even the employees don't care. They get the same rotten pay either way. Hell, they're more likely to get in trouble for confronting a shoplifter than just pretending they didn't see anything.

Where i live you have to pay cash first or put your card in the machine before the pumps will even start. No pumping and paying after. The four cast members of this show are still super close. Both David and Christina consider Ed and Katey like second parents all these years after the show ended.

The studio audience for this show was different than for other sitcoms. The atmosphere at the taping of this show was more like a stage play, where the audience cheers and claps for their favorite actors as they make an entrance. You see some of that during Seinfeld when Kramer barges into Jerry's apartment. I don't know what it is called, but a specific type of stage play encourages that type of audience interaction and this show was like that.

Full service at gas stations (which was standard) used to include pumping your gas (petrol), washing your windshield (windscreen), checking your oil level and radiator and bringing the chrarge card imprinter out for you to sign the slip. All you had to do was roll down your window. I remember too when you could drive, up pump your gas and walk into the station to pay for it.

One weapon that is used here in America to combat drive off's at the gas pump is that the plate is traced to the owner of the vehicle and the driver's license of the owner is suspended until the bill is paid and it is adjudicated in court. Police usually won't chase you down.

NJ is still full service for gas/petrol. I usually get gas at a local convenience store (Wawa). You can either give the attendant your card or you can pay inside the store. The cashier uses a 2-way radio to let the attendant know that you've paid inside. Either way you can't pump fuel without being charged first. Even in other states you can't start fueling until you've inserted a card or have paid inside. I honestly don't know how cash transactions are handled. I haven't paid with cash for years🤷‍♂️
