The cop didn’t side with the off duty cop because he already saw the footage of him assaulting the victim.

Officer should of been fired. He already had previous incident. Then here he assualts a guy while the guy is sitting down and not a threat in anyway.

Reminder: if a private citizen did this to a cop they would’ve been dragged out of their car, tased, and thrown in jail with a felony. But since a cop did it to a citizen he got a week off of work.

Daz never ceases to amaze me. He seems to meet the most interesting people. Must be due to his gregarious nature. If you put yourself out there and present yourself as someone who is open to chatting with anyone, I suppose you never miss an opportunity to meet someone interesting.

The phone thing varies by state, sometimes by county, or even city. However, this guy is driving in a commercial capacity in which case it is a violation of federal rules. The cop was not obligated to turn on red. You can turn right on red after a complete stop, unless it is marked as a no turn on red intersection, but it is entirely at the discretion of the driver and they are not required to do so. Any traffic behind you can piss off, it's your call, and your responsibility. So the guy honking was a bit of an ass, though I wouldn't blame him if the guy in front was, as he said, not paying attention. None of that justifies the cop's power trip, intimidation, and assault though. He got off easy, this alone should have ended his career.

There’s a problem with a small percentage of police officers in the US not trained properly, the wrong personality to be in police work, or just morally corrupt, the problem is too many good cops aren’t seeing it as a big enough problem to decide something should be done. It’s undermining a lot of people’s confidence in the institution itself. That’s a problem all of us should be concerned with.

Off duty and undercover are two different things. Also if you like watching cop videos try watching some Jacob Byrd at the Arkansas State Police. The ASP gets into a lot of high speed chases and they always end up with a PIT and Byrd is the best of the best.

From what I heard that is a school cop. He's not in his jurisdiction no matter any show of a badge. And cops have to observe the law unless some engagement in their duties otherwise requires other. This school cop got upset that he can't just block traffic for no reason and on his own personal time impersonated an officer by showing a badge when not performing police duties and he's guilty of that and assault. He should lose his job.

resource officers are sworn in police officers that have been stationed in a school, it doesn't make them any less of a police officer, impersonation is not an issue here

@@Mvrky0 He has no authority in the situation he was in. There was no crime. He was a private citizen then blocking the road with no justification and he displayed a badge as intimidation solely. Falsifying his duty as an officer at the time. One of the reasons he would be dismissed as he was.

@@garyi.1360 No cop is allowed to just punch somebody whether they're on duty or not. There's no impersonation here though. A cop is a cop whether they're on duty or not. He's a sworn LEO 24/7 and can arrest anybody if he seems them committing a crime, even when he's off duty. Obviously that doesn't apply here because the guy he punched hadn't committed any crimes.

I'd recommend utilizing Google, also it's fairly common knowledge that this stuff varies by state. 'there is not a separate offense known as “battery” in Connecticut. Almost any situation that involves an injury due to the use of violence, force, or a deadly weapon is categorized as a type of assault.'

I love how the crooked cop says that he told the guy he couldn't turn right on red when it is perfectly legal to turn right on red as long as you stop completely at the stop sign or red light then turn while having your blinker on and as long as no traffic who have the right away are coming and you actually have the space to turn . It's perfectly lawful to turn right on red so this cop is lying his ass off. But when most crooked people get caught they lie about everything they think will cover their ass. And yes you used to be able to talk on your phone while driving but it is discouraged in a lot of places and even illegal in others.
