One difference is the US version are not really called “pigs in blankets”, but rather “pigs-in-a-blanket”
Auntie Anne’s are delicious. It’ll be hard to walk by one. The aroma of the pretzels is hard to resist.

*Either them or Wetzel’s Pretzels
UK has their own version of Pigs in a Blanket, yes. But the term originated in America from a U.S. Army cookbook.
Auntie Anne's kiosks are found in mall, airports , and train stations. There are a few shops, but you will typically find them in shopping malls and travel hubs.
That is Auntie Ann's take on Pigs in a Blanket. It's got that name because many hot dogs are made from pork and pork comes from pigs. There is no bacon. My family used to make pigs in a blanket all the time during the holidays-- Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's.
They are called pigs in a blanket. Ilove soft pretzels with nacho cheese
In case Aidan is interested there are Auntie Anne's in the UK. Someone else I watch KZread that also lives in the UK was interested after reacting to this video so he did a Google search and found 3 locations by him in the UK.

Yeah but you know the UK one probably screws it up like they do with all American food. There's probably 3 grains of cinnamon on the cinnamon one, and probably no cheese sauce, etc etc
Nothing beats a salted soft pretzel with mustard. You can make them yourself, Gaynor. Very easy.

Philly sits on the Delaware River, which divides NJ from PA, so when you're in Philadelphia, you're right across bridge from Jersey.

They lived in New Jersey for many years, and visited Philly plenty of times while there.
Usually pretzels like that are served with cheddar cheese or nacho cheese and it is really good. My grandma always dips her pretzels (soft and hard ones) in mustard and it is delicious if you like mustard.
They're at the Moorestown Mall in Moorestown, NJ in the Philly metro area.

Malls are not as jam packed with shoppers like they used to be. More people doing on line shopping. Moorestown Mall is in New Jersey.
Gaynor's right. Pigs in a Blanket is mini hot dogs or sausages wrapped in pastry here in the 🇺🇸. I've had the sausages wrapped in bacon with brown sugar before and they are heavenly.
In the US its a pigs in blanket. Aka bread wrapped around a mini sausage. Theres no bacon on a pigs in blanket.
Pennsylvania was mentioned because that’s where a very large percentage of Amish live, most likely including the original Auntie Anne.
We call them _Pigs in a Blanket._ It's a hotdog or mini dog wrapped in pastry or biscuit dough, or in this case, pretzel.

The cinnamon pretzels with the butter cream icing dipping are majestic! I know they said it was too sweet but it tastes like a Cinnabon.
Aidan Gaynor is right in American hotdogs wrapped in crescent rolls or pretzels like that are called pigs in a blanket
Have to laugh. Every time we took my neice to shop for a dress for a special event, Auntie Anne's was the reward.
Fun video and reaction. Not as many people going to malls since the pandemic and since the explosion of on-line shopping. Also, the Mall in Moorestown , N.J. has a lot of competition-- with 3 more malls in close proximity -- Cherry Hill Mall, Echelon Mall, and Deptford mall -- all right outside of Philadelphia in New Jersey. When Gaynor said that maybe it's in North Jersey - she might have been thinking about the town of Morristown, N.J. which is in Morris County, N.J., suburban New York. Moorestown and Morristown pronounced differently. But sometimes confused, especially since they're both in the same state.

Yes I was. There was a mall in north jersey I loved, very expensive stores. Short Hills!
So they are basically lil smokies wrapped in pretzel dough or crescent wraps...pigs in blanket..love it
I worked at an auntie annes around 1996 as my weekend job at a farmer's market around PA. My favorite thing about the job was the customization of my own pretzels. My choice of favorite was jalapeno pretzel with frosting. Even if i wasn't working the other employees knew i would be getting two if i was standing in line. The rest of the line would be watching my two glories and suddenly everyone would be wanting to try it. The other perk is due to food code the ingredients would have to be discarded but the manager knew sacks of frosting would not go bad. I was still a teenager so i would use that for morning coffee. A squirt of sugar was like a spoonful of sugar but tasted better. Just a warning, i was a teenager and all those calories just melted just by existing.
Malls are a dying breed in the States.. Monmouth mall is almost shut down now and being made into a residential apartment area, that was by you guys in Middletown, down in Eatontown, NJ. Cheese is nice, but a yellow mustard goes so good.

Yes, remember Monmouth mall. Went there when we lived in Lincroft. I much preferred Freehold Mall, lived round the corner in Howell, so easy to get too.
Most malls in America are not doing well. All 3 of the major ones around me are half empty most of the time. People use Amazon for most things now.
We have one here in Traverse City, Michigan. It's sooo good. Haven't been in a long time. But the garlic pretzel is amazing. Here in America we call it pigs in a blanket and sausage is sausage and a hotdogs a hotdog. Just saying ❤
Soft pretzels are great dipped in a brown German mustard.
US lemonade is 1 part lemon juice 1 part sugar and 6 parts water (by volume not weight)
Aidan might not know what he would put on the pretzels. But I would bet Office Bloke Daz would put hot sauce on them if he was eating them
This was in the Moorestown Mall in Burlington County in New Jersey (pronounced more-rest-town). It’s about roughly 30 to 45 minutes outside of Philadelphia. They might have gone to this mall. Used to be a very busy mall, but the last few times that I went it seemed to have only a few people shopping.
I love to get Auntie Anne's regular pretzel or pretzel bites & get extra honey mustard sauce which is a little sweet & tangy & I would get a strawberry julius at Orange Julius & get a massage after work there at the mall. Pigs in a blanket is tiny sausages or hotdogs cut up wrapped in flattened biscuit dough. We have pre made biscuit dough. Usually there's no bacon unless you just add bacon to the hotdogs or sausage. The pig is the sausage or hotdogs & the blankets is the biscuit dough & baked golden brown. We usually dip in mustard or whatever sauce you want
Aidan the beauty of soft pretzels You can absolutely put AnYTHING on it to your liking. BASICALLY its buttered bread and takes the flavor of what you put on it. Personally i love them plain right out of oven they are so good.
They said if there are any Amish watching let them know. The Amish don't use anything requiring electricity. They don't watch TV and they don't allow photos or videos taken of themselves. They base this on a Bible verse talking about "graven images". Any Amish you see on TV aren't practicing Amish.
That’s a pig in a blanket here.. auntie Ann’s is a must when u went to the mall in the 90’s.. and to throw a penny from grandmas purse in the wishing fountain lol..
i just had some today at the mall here in florida at county side mall, so good. how you gonna say it’s not called that when it’s literally called pigs in a blanket lol. we make then for christmas too.
Auntie Anne’s is sooo good And pretty much in every single American mall.. my favorite are the cinnamon sugar nuggets😍
My favorite is the soft pretzel with the jalapeno cheese dip and the cinnamon sugar soft pretzel no dip. The Amish are in a few different states. I know there are Amish in Ohio as well as New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
In the U.S. we have pigs in the blanket, corn dogs, and kolaches which are all similar basically wieners wrapped in some type of dough. Kolaches are popular in Texas and at some places you can find them made with real pork or beef sausages. A normal hot dog wiener is different from real sausage.
Pretzel nuggets with honey mustard is my auntie Anne’s go to order
You can ask for salt free or easy salt. Me, personally easy salt with nacho cheese is my favorite.
They are at Moorestown Mall, New Jersey.
They did this episode just after the one in Philadelphia. Or they released it then. Next they did Wawa.
The cinnamon pretzel 🥨 with the white icing dip ❤
Nacho cheese & pretzels. Also that's our version of pigs in a blanket, the mini hot dogs wrapped in roll dough or whatevs.
our pigs in a blanket makes more sense than yours imo. bread is more like a blanket than bacon.
Love the cinnamon sugar pretzel with the icing. Definitely needs the icing.
Malls in NJ aren't as busy when compared to other places I've been to (San Diego and Manila). But, it's understandable the place is not as packed. This looks to be shot a little after breakfast hours, around 10am to 12pm.
Mr sunshine..... Argues every point, disagrees with every statement sits with his arms crossed miserable with a dark cloud over his face. Who thought to put this kid on ?
Pigs in a blanket is different in America. Gaynor was on the right path. They're little cocktail sausages wrapped in pastry dough. As a rule, we don't do the UK pigs-in-blanket.
This mall is in South Jersey, across the river from Philadelphia.
4:44 They should have gotten the chocolate dipping sauce for the cinnamon pretzel. If they still have the chocolate dipping sauce?
That cheese dip is a must!
Pretzels and hot nacho cheese....yummy!!
Malls in the US open early before the merchants and people come in and walk the perimeter of the mall for exercise. A lot of senior citizens take advantage of it because its climate controlled no matter the weather.

I remember that. All the velour leisure suit ladies power walking around the mall. 😂
The best way to think of american "fake" cheese is that its a cheese sauce thats solidifies at room temperature. if you take a regular cheese like cheddar and melt it, its an oily mess.
Moorestown is in South Jersey
Original German pretzels are plain with salt. All this is our typical putting our own American swing on things 👍
You do realize pretzels can have salt on them, pepoeroni or cinnamon sugar? Like theres different kinds of toppings lol.
The funny thing about the Amish is they refer to anyone outside their faith/lifestyle who embraces modernity as “English” If Josh & Ollie came to visit they’d be taking that term very literally 😂
There is probably a Moorestown in every state.
They had one of those in The mall near me...Malls in New England however are going the way of the dinosaurs!
Gaynor is correct. We call them "pigs in a blanket" in the U.S. a hot dog wrapped in bread.

The Amish would not be on the internet 😂
I think of this type of snack being targeted at a much younger crowd. Kids, teens and maybe young adults. By the time I was 30 I rarely ate these type of snacks. It is no wonder the icing is much too sugary for their taste. I couldn't eat more then a few bites of these pretzels. I've seen them in countless malls and I have never tried their pretzels.
Auntie Anne's is exactly mall food. Is it going to be good? No. But it's going to be exactly 14 dollars.
I loveeeee Auntie Anne’s but I only put mustard on mine. Regular yellow mustard
I don't know if my age or how large I've gotten, but I remember Auntie Anne's being a little bigger or thicker rather. Or maybe it's shrinkflation? lol
My go to is the original pretzel with cheese sauce and a lemonade
Cinnamon is Auntie Anne’s 2nd best seller 2:49
Moorestown Mall is in New Jersey.
Auntie Anne's is a good TKO.
It is called pigs in a blanket.
I am sure Daz would put hot sauce on them. You will find them in airports. In my area alot of the malls are not doing well and closing.
Pigs in a blanket is correct, in my opinion.
Malls in the u.s are dying. Between Amazon covid and here in CA, crime, most are struggling.
There's only ONE REASON to HATE AUNTIE ANNE'S: you CANNOT walk BY one without BUYING SOMETHING: THEY SMELL SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Auntie Anne’s is now served a Subway sandwichs
LOL! Moorestown Mall is in Southern New Jersey. I was born and raised in that area of the state, but we used to go to the Cherry Hill Mall when I lived there. By the way, Moorestown is pronounced Morris town. Two syllables in the first part and e pronounced like a short i. South Jersey is influenced by its biggest, nearest city which is Philadelphia, Pa. Lots of crossover in people, food, etc. in that area. Just like North Jersey is influenced by New York City. You can get a lot of great Philly favorites in southern New Jersey, sometimes even better -- like cheese steaks, hoagies, and soft pretzels.
Gotta have cold marinara sauce. 🔥
Mooted town is near cherry hill nj
I believe that mall is in New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
Those are called pigs in blankets over here
Gaynor is so fine. sheeesh
It’ll give send u to the bathroom all night if u eat more then a couple pretzels
My college bookstore sold soft pretzels with jalapeno cheese dip. Not too spicy, but just enough of a kick to make it amazing. The consistency though was more like nacho cheese. Best $2 you could spend as a broke college kid.
I like Wetzel’s Pretzels more than Auntie Ann’s.
Josh and Olly always put too much toppings and sauces on food they are trying for the first time. They should start out slowly.
I think he thinks he’s in Pennsylvania because it’s close to the border. It’s in Jersey though.
Damn!!! Look at Gaynor....shes looking svelte....she lost a lot of weight...careful Aidan,,the young guys will be hittin her up...shes gorgeous..they could be siblings!!!
Annes is the worst soft pretzels. The cheese is plain the pretzel is dry and over cooked. Want a Good Soft Pretzel hit up a Carnival or Amusement Park. We have an outdoor arcade in my area and the vendor has one of the best Fresh Made Hot Pretzel with Spicy Nacho Cheese. 6 bucks though!
10:49=I have a theory that a British person's default American accent often sounds southern. This may substantiate it. Otherwise, the place would actually sound closer to "new joyzee."

Malls are dead here now
"If you're watching this and you're Amish..." Ummm....
american malls are dead. the big ones are even starting to go down. my small town one is literally half empty and it was always flooded with people when i was a kid
Definitely don't have the sausage roll culture like you guys do lol. Other than pigs in a blanket the American versions are mostly weird tbh. For example my grandma used to make pretzel meatloaf. She basically encased American meatloaf in pretzel dough. It was pretty good for what it was I guess lol. I guess like "a poor man's" American version of Beef Wellington?
Didn't the soft pretzel originate in Germany? Probably came to the US via immigration and then Auntie Ann's Americanized it.
