Oh, how I've missed this one. I'm not even joking, I missed this one a lot, Alan.

Man, it feels like this is the last time we bothered doing a large electrification upgrade... watching the teams of guys laying the track and cable is pretty mesmerising in its cadence. Just walking up and down the train, tying cables to cable stays. Love the overhead shot of Glasgow Central in the APT promo section too. The APT which, of course, wouldn't have been possible without the electrification you show first! Though it's a tragedy that half the trains which run down that line still run diesel, because they go a bit further south than London and that part was never electrified. Which really exemplifies why I opened the comment as I did... every part of every mainline, at a minimum, needed to be electrified. And we fell far, far short of that.

NJ Transit has a similar issue on some routes. Everything into New York is electrified, but several other lines aren't, while the coast line is only mostly electrified, with diesel power being needed for the last 15 miles or so. Also a couple lines have a different electrification for some reason.

The motor rail fell out of use it came into service before the hole idea of motor ways or chunk routes in the 40s with LNER but demand changed and along with it the service had to go

We have motorail between England and France. It works. But it dumps a ton of car in Kent and they then clog up the motorway network there.

A time where the rail upgrade work done and no slacking. Wish we could go back to these time where there were no greedy fools in sight.

Seeing the 317 in NSE livery trundling over the Welwyn Viaduct at the start of the ELO song really takes me back. I grew up in a house that overlooked a station on the Great Northern section and saw 317s going through it daily. They looked and felt really tired by the time they were replaced by 365s (which themselves have now been replaced). This is a great music mix too.

Why couldn’t they use the part D78 Stock train doors on the sides and also restructure the front face of the A60 and A62 stock and that includes the class 313, class 314 and class 315 remix and make them all together and also redesign them an overhead line and also make them into Five cars per units and also having three Disabled Toilets on those Five cars per units A60 and A62 stock trains and also convert the A60 and A62 stock trains into a Scania N112, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Engines and also put the Loud 7-Speed Voith Gearboxes even Loud 8-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Gearboxes in the A60 and A62 stock, class 313, class 314, and class 315 and also modernise the A60 and A62 stock and make it into an 11 car per unit so it could have fewer doors, more tables, computers and mobile phone chargers. A Stock Trains and also having 8 Disabled Toilets on those A stock trains. why couldn’t we refurbish and modernise the Waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel and make it more Larger and extend it to the bank station, making it into a Triple-Track Railway Line so those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden to convert the waterloo and city line Triple-Track Railway tunnel into a High-Speed Railway lines?
