i love how KE gets interviews with underrepresented demographics like i’ve never seen taxi drivers on any form of media before and it’s great

So wholesome. I can't tell if this channel just finds the most adorable humans for all their videos or if it's just Josh and Ollie that brings that out in people. Absolute S-tier, relatable humans. Love it.

Probably both, since Josh and Ollie are just such a great guys that a lot of people can feel their positive energy oozing out of them. They both show passion in what they love and are able to express it, and that's infectious in a good way too.

I absolutely love the diverse group of people you present on the show. Whether it's school children, a priest or london cabbies, it's all incredibly refreshing seeing people from different walks of life enjoy and experience a different culture! Edit: diverse doesn't specifically mean race you know guys...

You know what’s so different and fantastic about this channel nowadays? You not only introduce new food to people, but you make it relatable by giving the same food that their counterparts in Korea would also have. So it’s not just an introduction to a different cuisine, but also to a different but similar culture and lifestyle. That then creates so much more understanding, especially when people can find something they share in common.

Man, growing up I always got made fun of for korean food. That it was too spicy or the smell or that it had too much garlic, whatever. I can't tell you how much joy it brings me to see so many different people learning to love our food. Thanks for this.

I have loved most of the Korean food I’ve tried (some just a bit too spicy for a wimp like me), and anyone who says “Too much garlic” is either a vampire or some other evil creature!

I had no idea how seriously they take being a taxi driver with that kind of testing. I love that.

There have actually been brain studies with established British taxi drivers showing that the part of the brain used for spatial memory is larger in the ones that have been doing it for a while. The kind of knowledge they have to store and rely on daily is remarkable.

@@renektop6820 Well GPS takes time, that's the difference between black cab drivers in London and just an uber. If the uber gets stuck in traffic or a delay, they has to rely on GPS to reroute them, which will take you where everyone else is rerouting too. A black cab driver in theory could detour to 100 different roads to reach the destination quickest through trial and error alone

a Chamorro friend of mine introduced me to authentic Korean food. as a Filipino, i thought we ate some really spicy stuff but man... Koreans love their chili. anyway, i liked Korean food so much, i learned some of their dishes. surprisingly, some of their food can be compared to Filipino food in terms of flavor profile, especially that kalbi.

The Knowledge is one of the most brutal tests in the world, the level of recall and production needed to secure a pass makes it so Cabbies tend to develop an enlarged hippocampus in their brains. These guys are underselling it too, you gotta go road by road from point to point, but the tester will specify the time of day because the routes change, and they can stop you at any point and throw in something like "there is a traffic jam due to an accident on X street" or "construction on the corner of Y avenue has closed two lanes" and the candidate has to determine if they need to reroute or not and articulate the new route. It's insane.

That's just for the black cab drivers i believe. These are for the posh from the city and fancy areas. Normal people just use taxis with drivers using satnav.

I think the thing that's really refreshing about these guys is how down to earth they all are. Fun to watch.

They were a lot more positive and open minded about the food than I thought they would be I personally am apprehensive when trying new cuisine I didn't know it was so difficult to get a taxi driver's license. Tough job

Yeah, In London it's common to see people driving round on scooters with a big map. They're trainee taxi drivers learning the best routes. Takes years

They can literally fill up the entire plane with the amount of guests they have to bring over to Korea. The football players, the students, the rappers, the cabdrivers The two random old ladies!

English people interesting fact actually love cuisine from different countries especially the east Indian food has been absolutely adored in Britain for over 100 years we love spices!

Mate, that's super wholesome how open those guys were to the food you served them. We have our English neighbours over for dinner all the time and it's always great when you serve them something new that they really enjoyed.

Britain has a terrible reputation for food because the dishes that come from here tend to be quite bland. But I think the reason our food is boring is that we stopped bothering trying to create our own food and just started eating everyone else's. British people tend to love anything Asian, Indian curry is our national dish. I would say a good 50% of restaurants near where I live are either Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese or Korean.

@@ringosis I think there is more to it. Despite the availability of the many foreign cuisines in the UK, we have never fully adopted any of them, to where we eat it every day as part our daily diet. We mostly eat foreign dishes, once or twice a week and then revert back to our usual standard meals. I love making thai curries once a week, but any other day, you could find me enjoying some beans on toast or even a mushy pea sandwich lol And I wouldn't change a thing.

Fun fact: This is the kind of restaurants the family ate at in the movie "Parasite"! Taxi driver restaurants are not limited to taxi drivers but to bus drivers also, who work long hours with very limited break time. A lot of struggling family (or in my case, broke uni student) would eat there because it's usually a all-you-can-eat type buffet at a very low price. 😁👌

예전에 아버지가 해주신말이 있는데 고추는 뾰족한 끝부분이 아니라 뭉툭한 꼭지부분부터 먹어서 뾰족한 끝부분을 버리는 거래요 농약이 거기에 다 고여서 씼어도 잘안씼겨서 버리는게 맛대요

@@user-ll3vg8ec5k 고추 표면에는 왁스층이 있어서 농약이 잘 스며들지 않습니다. 고추에 남는 정도의 농약은 물로 씻으면 다 사라지거나 몸에 무해할 정도로 잔류 농도가 낮아지기 때문에 그럴 필요는 없습니다~

Wow. The exam for the cab drivers amazed me. Here in the PH, we don't have that kind of training for taxi drivers, especially now that waze / maps exist. But kudos to KE to bringing such a unique demographic to the show!!!

My dad was a taxi driver for decades, he's 78 and he's still able to answer that kind of questions about Buenos Aires

100% agree with the guy who mentioned that if you see a place with a lot of taxi drivers, the food is probably pretty good (and reasonably priced!) and I think it can be applied to most blue collar occupations. I live/work in NYC, and many of the places I enjoyed eating lunch at were the hole in the wall establishments popular with construction workers or taxi drivers!

This is such a unique guest experience. What a great way to set up expectations for this year. You didn't lie when you guys said you have a lot of good stuff stored for us. This was so entertaining as always but very informative too. I just finished watching it but I already can't wait for more ... lmaoo

as a british person, seeing so many korean people interested in the reactions of british people makes me really happy. i hope that we can continue to have more collaboration between our two contries, and increase international friendships. korea is such a beautiful country with incredible cuisine, art, and landscapes. i hope you also maintain a high opinion of britain ♥️

It's wonderful to see people discover new foods like that! My Korean wife has been cooking Korean food for the people we're visiting in our travels and it's fun to see their reactions, especially the kids. She's also been discovering a new world of food like the regional BBQ in the US. Food just brings people together 👫 I love that they tried the pepper! 😆

I would LOVE to have seen the back story of this. How did you get a bunch of cabbies to agree to coming around to (what I assume is) your back yard to try a foreign dish none of them have ever heard of? Sounds like it could almost be a YES THEORY challenge.

Kinda want to see these gentleman to have a tourin korea. They're must be hardworking and not easily have a holiday, so taking them to korea must've mean a lot to them.

When visiting London I will only use a 'Black Cab' as I appreciate the work carried out to get the licence and the cabs are always so clean. Well done Cabbies.

맞아요. 영상 더 보니까 좀 더 좋아하게 되시는 것 같더군요. 첨에는 깜짝 놀랬다가 먹다보니 어떤 맛인지 이해한 듯 해요. 아마 낯설어서 인 듯 합니다. 저도 고수 싫어했었는데 어느 순간부터 매력을 알겠더군요.

I wish you guys could bring them to experience Korea too. Maybe get to know taxi drivers there sharing things

런던의 블랙캡이 비싸지만 굉장히 친절하다는 얘기를 예전부터 많이 들었는데, 자격 시험이 엄청 까다롭군요.. 기사님들 다들 대단하십니다. 한국 투어를 오시고 싶어하시는데, 어서 좋은 환경이 만들어졌으면 좋겠습니다.

저러면 경쟁도 경쟁이고 자부심이 있어서 서비스가 더 좋을 것 같아요. 한국은 택시기사되기 싶고 너무 많다는.. 그래서 상대적으로 요금이 저렴한 건 장점이지만..

세계서 가장 유명한 택시인 런던블랙캡인 만큼 얘로부터 그 택시 자격증 따는건 세상에서 가장 어렵다고 유명했죠. 최소 평균적으로 기본 4년이 걸리고 많게는 9년이 걸리는 경우도 많을정도로 네비라는 개념이 없던 시절 어떠한 주소를 대더라도 다 찾아가는 런던 택시는 새월이 지나도 여전하다고 하네요:)

한국이 블랙캡 벤치마킹해서 만든 게 모범택시인데 문제는 한국사람들이 모범을 안 타서 거의 유명무실....

@@scarletpark81 모범 대도시에서는 생각보다 많이 타요, 그만큼 일반택시 대비 수가 적어서 그런지 돌아가기는 하는 것 같음..
