That olympic dunk where Vince Carter jumped over the 7’2 Frenchman is the greatest dunk of all time, by far.

Shawn “Reign Man” Kemp was my favourite player when I was a kid. Kevin Calabro was the best play by play guy too! His calls made Kemp’s dunks even better to watch. I hope they get the Sonics back to Seattle soon. I’m hopeful with the Kraken joining the NHL and renovating the arena there will help bring them back. Kabir please check out Kemp’s top 100 dunks. 🔥🔥🔥

As an American who is 34 (just for reference of how long I've been watching NBA) I'm glad this list included dudes that played more than 20 years ago. Purely based on dunking, I completely agree with 1-3. After that I think it's all up for debate.

The clip of Julius "Dr. J" Erving running the floor and dunking from the free throw line was from the 1976 ABA All-Star Game Slam Dunk Contest when Erving played for the New York Nets. Others in that contest were Artis Gilmore of the Kentucky Colonels, George Gervin & Larry Kenon of the San Antonio Spurs, and David "Skywalker" Thompson of the Denver Nuggets. This was the first ever slam dunk contest, held at halftime of the All Star Game. This was the final season of the ABA, which merged with the NBA in June 1976. Teams from that final season: New York Nets, Virginia Squires, Kentucky Colonels, Indiana Pacers, Spirits of St. Louis, San Antonio Spurs, & Denver Nuggets. Two teams, Utah Stars & San Diego Sails, ceased operations during the season.

I knew before watching this that people like Elgin Baylor and Connie Hawkins wouldn't be under consideration as there isn't enough video of them, but those two along with David Thompson are three of the 10 best dunkers in professional basketball history.

Shawn Kemp was very much a power dunker. His athleticism was unmatched midair, his dunks weren't flashy like Vince Carter or D-Rose, but the agression he finished with at the rim still to this day has possibly never been matched.

Because of the SuperSonics I was able too see Shawn Kemp and down the freeway was Clyde Drexler and in same division with Kobe Bryant. Here in Seattle we had Kevin Durant and Yes , Yes we had Russel Westbrook with the 4th pick. F___ OKC stole our Sonics our NBA Championship Banner & Trophy 6 days after we drafted Russell.

I've usually only impressed by short players who can dunk. Spud Webb and Dee Brown, for example. I know some dunks are athletic plays, but so many dunks on highlights are just large guys dunking very hard. Even my clumsy self could do that if I was tall enough.

I love a good dunk anyday but 3 points is still better then 2 points!!! I'll take the Warriors backcourt of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, " the Splash Brothers" over everyone other then MJ! Klay is right behind Steph in threes! Klay once scored 60 points in a game in 30 minutes.(look it up). No lead is safe when u are playing these two. If they are behind, one of them will launch a barrage of treys and can tie a game or take over the lead in the blink of an eye. If both are in the groove at the same time and raining buckets then just beg for mercy!
