Each time I watch this movie, I laugh even harder at the way Helen's dress just turns for her as she goes to meet Annie. It's so incredibly pompous and pretentious and "I'm full of money" but Rose Byrne is SO good at letting that humour just flow naturally out of her role. I love this film. 😆

Rose Byrne is brilliant in this role, she's stole the show even with so many talented ladies.

idk why, but Helen's intro, like, at 3:48/3:49 is just a hilarious/hysterical, because you can tell how intimidated Annie is by her personality/ looks. But then, of course, Helen's mean spirit kicks in, and she tries to be all demeaning toward Annie, by calling her "cute" and "sweet". Still think the comparison/intro scene is hilarious, though.

Helen is also subtle in her antagonism towards Annie. Her comment of Annie merely being “Lillian’s childhood friend” creates an implication that they not as close anymore.

Kristen’s facial expressions are so good

One of my absolute favourite movies. Very relatable and funny.

I would definitely love to have a friend like Megan. She seems like she’s there for you always and it’s full of wisdom and great stories.

Melissa McCarthy will be lucky to top her performance in this film. Killer cast of funny women and she steals every scene !! I get choked up when she goes to Annie’s house to confront her about ghosting the friend group. Her monologue is really touching. ☺️Any Melissa fans who haven’t seen it you owe it to yourself to watch Can You Ever Forgive Me ?? She stars as a real life writer who began forging letters from famous literary figures and selling them to collectors. Richard Grant plays her only friend who helps her with the scam. They have fantastic onscreen chemistry and I was blown away by her dramatic acting skills. Wish she got more serious film rolls to show what she is capable of !!

Both nods would have been deserved. Comedy often gets overlooked, particularly at the Oscars. But it is definitely not easy. What is that quote from "My Favorite Year"? "Dying is easy. Comedy is hard."

Wow what strikes me watching this is that all the other women, Lillian and Annie go up to them and Lillian tells her/us about where she knows them from. With Helen, she calls out to her from a distance which gives Helen a grand entrance and she doesn’t start in with a description. Just here’s the pretty girl we love to hate ;)

Well, to celebrate getting engaged. It kinda explains itself, really. If you don't want one then you dont have to have one but don't begrudge those who do. Different people like different things and that all ok.

At first, I thought Helen was pretentious, cocky, overconfident and annoying, but, when she said she was insecure and didn't have many friends, it hit me and made me feel sorry for her.

I love Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wigg in this movie.

I can't believe that Kristen Wiig came from this to being the Cheetah in Wonder Woman, Maya Rudolph from this to being the Evil Queen in Disenchanted, and Melissa McCarthy of course, from this to being nominated for Oscar and being Ursula. They've come along way. And for Rose, I don't know why I hated her in Insidious, but started to love her in Bridesmaids, and loving her even more in Instant Family. Gosh.
