That's a damn great motivational talk. "You're your problem, but you're also your solution." That's tops.

Melissa McCarthy is great. Her Sean Spicer was excellent, but she could have been an even better Sarah Huckabee Sanders. :)

I disagree with Megan here. None of these things is Annies fault. So why should she be blaimed and habe to suffer. The world.caused her problems so why is it her fault

Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional. Yes. The things that happened to Annie in the beginning, her bakery going out of business and her dissolved relationship with her boyfriend were painful experiences. But she didn’t have to become an a**hole and spoil her friend’s bridal shower. Megan was giving her tough love to show her that Annie didn’t have to become a miserable a**hole.

Some of them are her fault & some aren't. What happens before the film is out of her control: the economy crashing, her bakery going out of business and her boyfriend leaving her when all that happened was beyond her control. But many things that happens to her during the movie are choices she makes. She chooses to yell and swear at a young customer at her job when she surely knows she'll get fired, she chooses to stay with a guy who's a jerk, she chooses to not get her brake lights fixed repeatedly. Once she finds a guy who treats her well, she chooses to push him away because he wants to help her pursue her passions again. Some things that happened with limited control, those ones are all actions Helen takes. Helen give her medicine on the flight & she has a bad reaction, derailing the bachelorette party. Helen completely steals Annie's idea for the wedding shower theme AND upstages her extremely sentimental, thoughtful gift, causing Annie's resentment to boil over & fly into a rage. But what Megan is referring to is the fact that once all these bad things do happen to her, she's not doing anything to try and turn her life around or even come up with a plan to improve her situation after briefly licking her wounds. She's just sitting there, feeling sorry for herself when she needs to take action. Which she does after Megan's pep talk: she gets her brake lights fixed. She gives the guy who likes her another chance, She apologizes to both Helen and Lillian and makes amends. It's not all one or all the other.
