It is nice to see a bride who is an adult and who has things in perspective. Buying a house and being able to afford it and a wedding is something an adult can keep in their head. She is not a vapid princess looking to be swept off into fantasy-land by some prince charming or an entitled child-like person who wants to be looked after. Her sisters are sabotaging her, nothing less.

This bride and groom were planning more for the marriage and not just the wedding. Good for them! Many brides (and grooms too) can get caught up more in the wedding than planning for their marriage and going into a lot of debt to start off a marriage isn't the best idea. You can do some pretty amazing things on a budget. You just have to be creative about it and ask friends to help instead of hiring people to do everything. I know I did it!

Decades ago a friend asked me to be the "gatekeeper" during her wedding dress shopping. Her rules were simple If it was over her price point and the person who picked it was not going to pay the difference I was instructed to tell them she will not be trying it on and put it back on the rack. If it was over her price point and the person was going to pay the difference she would try it on. Her sister and cousin picked 3 dresses. Each dress was between 3 to 4 thousand over her budget. They were unwilling to pay the difference. For them it was playing dress up. Those dresses never made it to the dressing room. They weren't happy but the bride was. Mission accomplished!

I SO understand her feeling to do not even be able to like a dress up to the point to buy it if you are not comfortable with the price point. Control and management of expenses is a part of expression of our adult self, which must show at the wedding moment as well, so well done to this bride to stand for her decision, also because a cip in of 100 from each member attending there could be achievable, to ask fir more would be too much, I totally understand and love this Bride. What I love too is how the Bridal Assistant run looking for something as much similar to the one she liked as close as possible to her budget, that made the sake, that was the only way for that Bride to get a dress on that day and the Assistant took her Bride at her heart rather than pushing highier for the benefit if the business. Well done everyones🎉🎉🎉🎉

Strange how brains go out of the window when family and friends start pulling dresses that the bride can’t afford.🇬🇧

what amazes me the most (other than the entourage busting the bride's budget without chipping in a dime AS ALWAYS) is that they had this doppleganger dress in her price point, with the pockets even. so just... why even carry the more expensive dress? why would anyone buy the more expensive one when they can have the exact same thing for half the price?

I actually loved the first gown she tried on and so did she, but she clearly liked the $1,400 gown better.

It’s similar but not exactly the same. I like the more expensive one better.

Because you're not taking into account quality. The dresses may look alike on TV, but you have no idea what they are like in person; the feel of the fabric, the quality of the craftsmanship. It starts to go up with the price.

I’d ask (the sisters) if they’re willing to pay the difference in anything beyond the bride’s budget?

Are you telling me between her 3 sisters & her Mother that they couldn't make up the difference so she could get the dress she loved? 🙄

Here’s the thing about going over the budget. Since the mum and sisters wanted her to exceed the budget, they could have each contributed 200-250$ or offered to cover the cost for something for the new house she bought, such as a couch or a dining table, which she said she’d spend anything over her budget on. If they’re not willing to do that, how dare they not listen to her?

Shame on the sisters for trying to push her over her budget. Bravo for her consultant for finding something similar but in her budget! She looked gorgeous. So glad she was looking out for the bride and not a higher commission.
