The fact he started his speech making a school playground comment around ego and "i told you so" rhetoric says everything you need to know about him and his motives. It was always about his own personal goals, and once he achieved them, he rubbed it in their face like a child then fucked right off. And where is he now? Oh right, he became a campaign partner with fellow corrupt slimeball Donald Trump, and has been hanging around in the US since we left the EU. What a coincidence - he had his small personal victory and then moved on without a care in the world for the negative impact it will have on the UK for generations to come. All the uneducated bigoted morons in this comment section loving his speech even today apparently have not realised he's abandoned them after selling fake promises and ruining the country's future. If he was so right and Brexit is so good, then why did he leave and not look back?? Especially when Brexit has achieved nothing positive so far - it's not like his job is done is it? He fucked the UK then ran off like a deadbeat dad.

That is what Brexit did for Sweden, so thank you.

Not much has changed really for us. We’ve still got dreadful politicians running this country (both leave and remain voting politicians might I add) but generally I’ve not noticed too much difference since we left the EU. Glad to be out though, we weren’t fully onboard with what the EU wanted to do and constantly had to ask for opt-outs and reforms. It was better for all parties that we left and do our own thing, and the EU can be left to do its own thing. I still believe that the eurozone will eventually collapse as Germany and France can’t keep propping up the weaker eurozone states in the south, but I suppose time will tell. As a Swede though I must ask, do you not find it strange that your neighbour Norway doesn’t want full membership? Even little old Iceland doesn’t want anything to do with it. I know both countries maintain friendly and close relations with the EU, but why have they kept their distance when it comes to full membership?

  • @daniel931016

@@viewfromtheanglo4334 Regarding the question about Norway the answer is simple: oil. They don't want to jeapordize their control over this huge resource. That is at least the commonly known answer, if it is more complicated than that is unclear but the oil definitely plays an important role in why Norway hasn't joined EU. However, it is worth remembering that they still obey to EU rules because of the agreement that they (and Switzerland, Iceland etc) have with EU. I forgot the name of the agreement. Regarding the eurozone, I think it is safe for some time ahead. For the first time since 2008 the debate if Sweden should have the Euro or not has started to emerge again because the swedish Krona is so weak. The support for the Euro is still significantly lower than before the euro crisis in 2008 but it is growing again. I don't know how countries in the eurozone views the euro though.

It will probably be no deal but hopefully on WTO article 24 terms. We will see. A big pissup in the uk on 30th March!!!!! Why is nobody promoting article 24 WTO?

He did every ditherer in every other EU country a huge favour in pushing Brexit through. Within months they were denying it ever crossed their mind to leave ( like a lot of leavers now do, esp if they have moved). The disaster of brexit is apparent even to the most ardent Brexiteers who hate it being brought up in public debate. In short they had nothing to shout about pre referendum except lies and the reality is project fact.
