Boiling:
Brewtools Steam Hat B80pro with Silicone Plug and Seal

Attached to the 34mm fitting on top of the condenser is a metal coffee machine hose i found at a local hardware store. i added a 34mm threaded TC fitting to the elbow of the hose to make it easy to remove when i need to remove the steam hat. The other end of the hose goes into the water splitter below the brewing table.

you will need a joining 1/2” thread as the 34mm TC fitting is female and so is the thread on the elbowed portion of the water hose. These are easy to find in most plumbing departments
You will notice the plumbing on my condenser extends down lower than the standard kit. i just so happened to have a 2” to 1.5” reducer and an extra 1.5” straight pipe i wasn’t using so i decided to add it onto the end of my condenser piping.
This set up requires a total of:
33 X 34mm Tri-Clamps
8 X 1.5” Tri-Clamps
6 X 2” Tri-Clamps
1 X 3” Tri-Clamp
2 X 4” Tri-Clamps
Dont forget gaskets for each.
i think that’s everything….

    Nice job, and thanks for that detailed look at your set up. Taken plenty of cues for my own one from your other videos and it has always worked a charm. Did notice the lack of shots on how you have your centerpipe setup during mash. still secret stuff? :)

    Very nice setup you have there! One thing bugged me though, I'd definitely go for some food-grade water hoses to avoid any plasticizers in my wort. That's surely worth it in such a high-end system.

    The yellow hoses are food grade and made specifically for water for cooking / consumption and hold some EU certifications (cant remember which to be honest) certifying their materials are safe and do not leech. I took great care in choosing them and imported them myself from a company in italy. I should have touched on this. The others are just for water out and are cheap hardware store hoses.

    @@MasteringHomebrew Oh, ok, my mistake. They look like standard garden hoses in my area. Nevermind.

    Hello Lyndon, thank you for your great videos. Noticed that you go to the fermentor directly from the pump output instead of straight out of the chiller bypassing the kettle. Doesn't this make the cooling take longer ?

  • @MasteringHomebrew

    It does make cooling longer but for me as long as I can get below 60°C in a reasonable time frame thats all that matters to me. I like to do a very slow whirlpool for about an hour after the boil has finished. Especially if I’m not in a hurry I’ll let the wort sit and settle then get a nice whirlpool going so a good bit of trub is caught in the trubinator. It can help with clarity in the final product if that’s what you’re going for. Clear in, Clear out.

    That is a cool setup! I have 2 questions, if I may. What is the Pressure relieve valve for on the pump-in side, is this for “priming” the sparge hose? And second, what are the dimensions of the 90 and 45 degree elbows? I can’t seem to find that info anywhere (at least not after quitting Facebook and with it leaving the Brewtools Owners Group). Thanks and cheers!

    Thank you! The PRV is for priming the sparge hose in. Not always needed but certainly nice to have when you do. Im not 100% sure on all of the dimensions to be honest. 34mm TC size. Also im not using any 45s. 🤔

    Alright thanks again I like this setup so much that I’ve copied it for my B40 :-) When chilling do you chill the whole batch and than transfer directly from kettle to fermenter once the temperature is okay, or is there any valve combination I didn’t think of that allows wort to go from the kettle to the chiller and on return go into the fermenter?

  • @MasteringHomebrew

    @MasteringHomebrew

    @@JelmoNL i chill the entire thing down first since the cfc isn’t efficient enough to go straight to the unitank. Ive been thinking of adding another cfc for a single pass but i havent pulled the trigger yet. I like to do an extended whirlpool at the end sometimes. Depends on the beer.

    Was the transfer of sparge water from the brewtools to the hlt acheived by gravity?

  • @MasteringHomebrew

    @MasteringHomebrew

    Yes the full volume of both is enough to “push” the water into the hlt
