I came here because mine wouldn't crush. I did like you and thought the drill had to go counterclockwise. Clockwise did it! Beautiful crush!

It's all good fun. I'm coming back to making beers soon . I got a tilt to test out

To keep the grain hull intact and improve flow, try conditioning your grain with 2% water based on grain weight. Spray it on the malt with a spray bottle, leave it for 10 minutes and mill. This will allow you to keep a small roll gap and still avoid a stuck sparge

I've heard/ read about this technique and I may try this in a future brew . Cheers . To be fair I changed the roller size by if say a quater way to the next roller marking and got a better crush and fast flow. Efficiency at about 75% . A point on design of the mill if you are interested is that the hopper is flimsy and bent at the screws very easily when I was dusting it down

Can you set the gap size in between the labeled values? How is it working after 2 years?

How did the brew go with that crush? Was sparge ok or did it get stuck? Looks a bit floury.

Slow to be fair . So I gave it a stir in the grainfather which sped up the sparge . Was only 2points out of desired og. I will move it up to the next measurement on the next brew

I've used it twice. Crush seemed to work ok . I don't like the aluminium hopper . It bent out of shape whilst I was trying to clean it so I had to fix it with a hammer.
