Спорт

Looking through some old dvd's, I found this interview from November 2014 where Bret Hart came to the King Power stadium in Leicester to discuss his career.

To all the people that call Bret Hart arrogant. I’ve met mechanics, car salesman, mowers, accountants etc. that thought that they were the light of the world. At least Bret was a genius wrestler that entertained millions and is still remembered as a legend today and is a multimillionaire that can back it up

I've met him twice now and he is super humble. He has strong opinions about other wrestlers and the state of the business, which he has earned the right to have, and because of that people do give him those daft labels like being arrogant. The fact is that the man has lived wrestling his whole life, and he has been around the very best and the very worst throughout his career. You are totally right in saying he is a legend, and his opinion will always mean a lot more to me than some other stars of the past/present.

I've searched KZread endlessly for any and all Bret Hart interviews and I've watched pretty much all of them.....I can't get enough. The guy was my hero as a child with not having a good relationship with my father. I learned to be honorable, honest, responsible and respectful BECAUSE Bret. It's crazy how as I got older I realized how much effect this man had on me becoming a man. Hes so much more of the character than I could've ever imagined.

I gotta give this interviewer a ton of credit. Never interrupts Bret as he goes into one monologue after another when telling these stories. Pure class.

I was there! I remember Bret went over his scheduled time that evening but still stayed to sign autographs for everybody. I got him and his son Blake to sign my book for me. There was an auction among the crowd for a spot to sit next to him during the dinner. I think the winner paid something like £500. There was also a wrestling bout held in the room prior to Bret's interview as well. I became friends with one of them that night and we still talk today, nearly 10 years later.

Bret Hart might get some details mixed up occasionally but at the end of the day you can count on Bret Hart telling the truth in his interviews. I’ve heard Bret tells some of these stories before and the narrative never changes

Bret was and is one of the best in ring performers of all time. Even if people bitch, he didn't draw, which isn't entirely correct, he had some of the greatest matches of all time. Made people who couldn't work look great

He was a far better draw than HBK or Diesel as babyface champs during the worst modern period and lack of heel opponents. And in Europe he was fn huge, you had to live through that time to know it.

In the Wrestling with shadows doc, you can see what kind of genuine person Owen was, because in all the aftermath and the testosterone and wrestling crap, Owen remains silent and just goes straight to Bret's wife, puts his arm around her out of great concern and kind of walks her away. Everyone else was too wrapped up in the Bret/Vince thing. Owen was the one mature person putting himself in the shoes of what the family might be experiencing, probably wondering what HE'D have wanted if it had happened to him, that someone would come to comfort his wife in all that chaos and confusion. That always stood out to me above everything else in the aftermath of the Survivor Series.

I attended another evening with Bret in 2012 in London and he mentioned how Owen was the one trying to ease tensions whilst both Jim Neidhart and Davey Boy were excited at the prospect of a full scale brawl happening. It definitely does seem like Owen was the more grounded in that particular moment.

MDA sent me tickets to all of them, but I only attended Hart, Angle, Flair, Bischoff and some boxing and football ones. The wrestling ones all got a write up (from me) on Wrestling Inc, but no idea if they are still available as all were years ago now.

Yeah I haven't been able to watch in a long time. Give me a Mr Perfect v Bret Hart technical masterclass any day over the modern spot fest style. There isn't much focus on proper storytelling any more. People will take a move and jump right back up to get to the next spot on their list.
