It was truly priceless to watch how the interviewer was laughing at Bret’s keeping a straight face while talking about his proposed “cat gimmick.” Having met him personally many times between 1994-March 2020, I can say from experience that Bret has proven to be a warm genuine man who is truly appreciative of his fans’ support and showed it. It didn’t surprise me to hear him say that “it doesn’t hurt to be nice.” As it turned out, I was at ‘Mania 13, before Bret went on the “US/Canada” schitck. My friend and I met him after the event. I remember shaking his hand and thanking him for a great match. Bret squeezed my hand(mind you, he already had a strong grip!)and looked at me with what looked like a pleading look in his eyes. I thought that he was trying to tell me something but couldn’t. My friend had mentioned that same suspicion. The next night on Raw when Bret turned heel, my friend and I spoke on the phone-we guessed that this was what he was trying to tell us. Though I had reason to believe that his sons’ decisions not to pursue wrestling careers were influenced by what happened to him, I wasn’t surprised to hear Bret say that they were turned off by the business. I also loved watching him wrestle-he proved that one didn’t have to be oversized to be successful and productive and most importantly-professional. I stand by my claim that Bret Hart’s name is synonymous with the word legend.

I remember being a kid and seeing Bret appear, even for just a few moments to make a snotty comment in that Simpson's episode but it felt so special to me. I was probably the only person I knew who recognized Bret as "The Hitman" in that episode and not just a random wrestler, and considering how much of a mark I was for Bret, that episode became one of my favorites. Now that Bret can be counted among the greatest wrestlers who ever lived, it makes the cameo even funnier after all these years.

To think about all the matches missed, even a WrestleMania 13 rematch at 14 would of been a better match than an injured Shawn had with Austin...hell, even Owen but I doubt austin ever wanted to be in the ring with him again, but what a story, the guy who broke his neck. It's not like it would of mattered either way, Tyson was the story and his angle with Austin. But either way Vince seriously resented Bret for his negotiations with WCW during a time he was hurting bad, that's why he treated Bret the way he did. Without Bret talking to WCW and getting his almost 3 million a year, Vince would of never made a contract with Bret like he did. It pissed off Shawn the most, but you can't blame Bret trying to get the best deal possible. That's how the game is.

The stuffed cat idea is hilarious but also really cool! They could've made it part of Bret's gimmick as a dastardly heel -- one night he whacks Booker T with a concealed brick, another night Goldberg spears him but he's wearing a steel plate, another night he does something else underhanded but clever to piss off the guy he's feuding with.

I love Bret Hart above all else!!! He may not be loud and fuzzy like Flair, Stone Cold or others but his personality and glee was seen in his whole nature. He was even jovial through the use of his artwork and he's just so natural and grounded. Each wrestler is a piece of the puzzle. He'll do what needs to be done, and apart from the injury and family loss, he has peace...which is more than what I can say for many ex wrestlers

He made a great great point in another interview how today’s wrestling is too over the top, too many moves, and too fast. Brett mastered the art form best I think. He knew how to draw ppl in and make it look more like a struggle in the ring. Slower pacing and save the best for when it matters. Eddie Guerrero, HHH, Hogan, Flair, HBK and others were also real good at this

Mad props to Bret here for naming the so-called “demon” by its name: drug addiction. I hate, hate, HATE when wrestlers and business members talk about it as “demons.” The curtain was pulled back guys, literally 40 years ago. Call it by its name: addiction. Damn, Bret should’ve taken a page out of Jerico’s book and just start his own feuds and storylines. Funny how on 83 Weeks Bischoff can’t go 3 seconds without stressing the importance of storylines on TV, yet his run leading WCW is characterized by ONE good storyline (the NWO introduction) which was then run into the ground with nothing to replace it.

Rock’s sharpshooter alright looked like he twisted their feet, then flipped and didn’t sit down low enough. So he’s basically just standing there holding a guy with his feet crossed

I never heard the El Dandy promo until just a few days ago yet was a huge fan back in the 90’s. I either heard it and forgot it and didn’t think it was funny then or was flipping between RAW and Nitro and missed it. So glad I found it.

LOL! I know, right? I always called the Crock's wretched version "The Poop Shooter," because he always looked like he was taking a dump on his opponent. "The Blue Chipper" was a complete *joke* of a "wrestler."

The story about the Simpons and drawing him in as a mad Viking, I was thinking do they even know who Bret is??? Someone clearly doesn't know how huge Bret is why wouldn't you have him in as himself. That all became apparent as they saw him signing all the stuff haha great story that!

Bret Hart is the goat of wrestling. He speaks very well in explaining different things and their is always consistence in his stories. I totally agree that pro wrestling missed wonderful bret hart matches with Steve Austin, The Rock, Mankind, Ken Shamrock even triple H. WCW were drafts they missed the trick with the best wrestler of that time. Bret vs Hogan and NWO was the natural progression and he could be build as anti authority by using his fallout with vince. Bret Hart could be usebto build future generation stars like benoit, Jericho, Rey, Booker T.

Really a whole Simpson’s episode could of been built around Bret. Could of had some sort of story with him and Bart or Homer.
