It's a shame that this show isn't around anymore. Instead we have sub-par podcasts/live-streams run by super-fans posing as journalists/reporters.

I agree that there's a soothing sound in Bret's voice when he talks. I've met him many times from 1994-2022. I remember being nervous the first time I met Bret and while waiting on line, trying to think of what to say to him. The first impression that I got from Bret was that he exuded this genuineness and warmth. When I shook his hand, I said, "It's nice to meet you, Bret." He responded, "It's nice to meet YOU" with this warmth in his voice and his eyes. I can attest that from then on, Bret never had me feeling nervous or uncomfortable. When I'd show my father photos of myself and Bret(from photo opp/autograph signing events), he'd say that there was something "pleasant" about him.

*8:56* Vince: "It was looking into the eyes of a skeleton"--that was typical Vince who couldn't recognize Bret's grieving Owen's death. I was lucky to have followed much of Bret's solo career both on TV and in live events. His matches were so engaging and full of storytelling. To me, the name Bret Hart is synonymous with the word legend.

It’s a lot worse then what you describe. Vince knew he was lying on national Tv. He took a sadistic and sociopathic angle for whatever reason and tried to paint Bret as someone who didn’t care about his brothers death and was focused on his own career. That’s so disturbing it’s incomprehensible.

@xZIGGY_STARDUSTx as does a Benoit or malenko, Owen , Eddie, and so on. But Bret stood out above all of these greats. I grew up on Bret. Remember his loss at Wrestlemania 9 so vividly. I think I cried , lol! I'm 38 now. I respect the shit out of Bret. I understand how he is viewed as bitter, and he is. But he has a whole lot of reason to be. He was robbed of the final decade of his career. Look how HBK made his final run. I think Bret was soaked from head to toe, inside out in bitterness , frustration, and anger, and it took him down with the stroke.

@@Mikefantasia22 I love the guy as well but I don't think he's as consumed with hate as you think. For a while he was pissed off at Vince and WWF but with the advent of the internet and social media he's now fully aware that millions of people love him to death and respect his work. The dude was the finest in-ring talent ever to exist and the WWF spin-machine suppressed that fact while downplaying his camera presence, charisma and intelligent mic style for years. Everybody knows Bret was the best and who cares if WWE does an overdramatic celebration of HBK or anybody else while ignoring him? Facts are facts .... he's the best there is, best there was and the best here ever will be.

Vince more or less indirectly admits he's a psycho/sociopath, for not understanding Bret "talking about Bret" when they met regarding Owen's passing. That's how people cope and deal with tragedy and trauma; they bring up past injustices and wrong doings. Bret was literally grieving to Vince in the park that day, and it went right over Vince's head. Zero surprise. The Hitman is the GOAT.

Also, Bret is now friends with Shawn Michaels and hates Bill Goldberg. I guess at the time of this interview, Bret hadn't lost everything yet due to that concussion he sustained from wrestling Goldberg so he didn't despise him yet like he does today.

Bret has always contended that the audience members are marks, once wrestler start hurting each other...the art of it is gone and they become the marks. Later on it's also revealed that Goldberg wanted to learn how to wrestle and from Bret. I heard this on one of the Jim Cornett podcast and watched it on TDSTR

Martha would've hated him for giving Vince a scrap of a detail on anything to do with Owen and he and she were very close after his death (Bret was the only one who didn't whore himself out to Vince for a payday or special favours at the time). Bret couldn't say FU for killing my brother, so he said FU for destroying my career. Vince as a master manipulator spun it as Bret being heartless and self-interested using nothing but the facts. Bret went back in 2005 and 2011 for the sake of his career; McMahon is a scumbag and one facet of his nasty behaviour came out recently with all the paralegal suff. Bret perfectly understands the way Vince operates and inveigles people provided he has something to gain.
